Hi C3!

As I guess you’re gonna release your yearly French-themed songs next month, I thought I’d open this thread to throw some French artist names. Some are huge in France and some are more personal requests, some are songs in French and other are in English or half-French/half-English. I’m kinda sure that a whole pack of French songs sang in French by French artists who are unknown abroad is not something you’ll ever do as it would be too disconnected to C3 forumers but well who knows. Anyway I’ll sort everything by language.

Ofc it’s not exhaustive and maybe other people will add requests here too.

          Oh… OK lol. xD

I thought it was a thing you’d reiterate each year. Anyway, this is still something that might happen sometime so I’m just changing the title of this topic, and here we go. :shobon:

How about “L’Amour Est Bleu” by Paul Mauriat? Sure it’s an instrumental, but it’s still a French song by a French artist, and is the only song by a French artist to hit #1 on the U.S. singles chart. The keys chart would be tasty.

And as long as we’re talking about French instrumentals with tasty keys, just about anything by Jean Michel Jarre would do nicely. “Oxygene Part 4” and “Equinoxe Part 5” would be particularly fun, I think.

I’ve been toying with the idea of charting some Jean Michel Jarre for ages now, mainly for my own amusement (been a big fan of his since my parents took me to see his millennium concert at the Pyramids when I was 11). But I might go for it now, knowing someone else might enjoy them too! I think some stuff from Chronologie would work well too – some actual guitar in there, solos and all!
