Are you using all Windows PCs? No VM or fake Windows or Windows on MAC or anything like that? Do you have .NET Framework 4 and the Xbox 360 controller drivers as stated in the OP as requirements? If you do, post the entire error message. Screenshot if you have to.
October 23, 2019 at 1:04 am #507575What are you talking about? Sounds like a bot with nonsense post but registered in 2017???

October 23, 2019 at 8:26 pm #507580There is a weird link to a .ru domain in the period at the end of that post. Definitely do not click.

Good catch. Definitely a bot then. Might have been a legitimate account originally, but compromised now. Post should be edited and that account’s password reset at the very least.
October 23, 2019 at 11:49 pm #507583There. I hid the post. User only had two posts but registered almost 3 years ago. That .ru website seems to be his website because it’s also part of his profile.
I don’t have ban powers but I do have mod powers so both his spammy posts have been hidden.
December 7, 2019 at 7:43 pm #508177Hello, I have tried the program on 3 different computers and keep getting
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Contine, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit the application will close immediately. External component has thrown an exception.
and it forces me to quit. Can see the program in the background. Light unit is hooked up and registering on PC as player 1. Power cord usb spliced to Ps/2. Thank you
Hi there
I have exactly the same issues as this guy, I’m running this on Windows 10 1903. I assume this is due to some .net changes in newer Windows 10 versions. I read some articles that many .net based programs are affected by this after the creator update, maybe I’m wrong. Anyway as support as been put on hold on StageKit Lightworks since while I assume there will be no chance to make this work? Does anybody of you have an idea how I can control the Rockband stage kit from win10 computer, my little girl has a party in a few weeks and I promised her (yeah my fault I know) that daddy can make fog with the machine I unfortntaly do not have access to an older Notebook anymore… Do you guys know any alternative?
This is the detailed error I get from StageKit Lightworks

March 17, 2020 at 1:48 pm #510317Sorry I have no idea what is causing the issue. I’ll see if one of these i can dig up my equipment and test it at home to see if I can pinpoint the issue.
March 19, 2020 at 1:05 am #510324I dug up my equipment and ran a few tests. I’m running Windows 10 Pro 1903 installed on 8/24/2019. As far as I know i’m running all the latest updates. All is working as intended for me. Surprised actually that it still did. No problems on my end.
From reviewing the error log above, it seems to be a problem with SlimDX.dll, which I didn’t create and I can’t modify. That’s the library that interprets the input from the xbox controller. When I plugged in my stage kit Windows picked it up as PDP Stage Kit I think, and installed drivers automatically. Did that happen for you?
May 18, 2020 at 1:44 pm #511542Sorry I have no idea what is causing the issue. I’ll see if one of these i can dig up my equipment and test it at home to see if I can pinpoint the issue.
I did some more tests as well and was able to get this working on Windows 7, but never in Windows 10.
Do you have any pre-made scripts or links to any that are made we could run? thanks
May 19, 2020 at 2:12 pm #511561You quoted that post but not the one after where I tested it and it worked fine on my copy of Windows 10. I have no idea why it’s not working for some people. Scripts or not won’t make a difference. If the program doesn’t run, then it won’t run scripts. I never made any except the demo scripts that come with the program. But again, if the program won’t run – it doesn’t matter. Sorry guys I would fix it if I could replicate the issue – it’s working fine on my end.
