So today I booted up my old RBs again on X360 after having lost my old tracks to a hard drive failure, and to my immense displeasure I found out that neither the RB2, nor the LRB, nor the GDRB imports were being supported anymore. I haven’t checked, but I also fear for the status of the Track Packs, especially the AC/DC one.
I know C3’s policy on songs that had already been in the games before, but it was C3 that saved my bacon by putting up the songs from RB1 and RB2 that couldn’t be imported to other games (it was such a joy to play Paranoid and Enter Sandman again), and there’s been some older stuff that’s been taken down from the Music Store over the years (I regretted not having bought Get It On before Harmonix took it down).
So I was thinking, maybe those songs that they don’t have anymore could be rescued, like the “lost” tracks from the first two games? Sorry if this is something inappropriate to ask.

Unfortunately any track that was previously official HMX content, regardless if it’s delisted or not, won’t ever be on this site. Just a legal liability.
That being said, did you manage to export the older games to RB3 at some point? If so then you should be able to re-download all the exports from the LIVE Marketplace.

And well, I was able to rescue the Lego RB imports because they were still in my history, but I’m having no such luck with the others. RB1 says I need to buy the export license again, and when I try it, I get a pop-up from Xbox saying “item is no longer available”. As for RB2 and Green Day, it says that I need to pay for them again, too. And the track packs don’t appear in my Previously Redeemed Codes list in RB3.
Plus, only a handful of the songs I bought before appear as already purchased in the Music Store (which is a little over 70 out of the 200+ I used to own).May 14, 2020 at 6:28 pm #511447Geez this makes me wanna backup my songs

Yeah, I did have another account, and after much fighting against my memory to even remember the e-mail to it, not to mention the password, I could confirm that that is indeed the case. Apparently I didn’t care about a “primary download account” or something of the sort (or maybe it’s because it’s a US account, which allowed me to dodge content restrictions from my local Live), so it seems that I alternated between downloading to one or the other, depending on which one I was playing with.
I also managed to get my RB2 export pack from it.
Still couldn’t find the track pack codes, though.Right now I get the feeling that I should’ve predicted that what happened would happen.
EDIT: Good news. I managed to find my track packs in this other account’s Download History – as well as some of the XBLA games I used to have – and some stuff I had and the Music Store doesn’t carry anymore, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers songs I had downloaded before. I even found the RB1 Export Key. So, things are looking up – soon I’ll have my full library back.
