First up today are a couple of customs that I’m dedicating to my lovely wife. She unfortunately had to work all day on Sunday, so I asked her to choose a couple of songs before she left that she’d like to play on RB3, and this is what she chose. Which went pretty well for me as I also happen to love both of these songs ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

 

Coldplay – Paradise

 

To start, we have Paradise by Coldplay. Frankly, I’m amazed this hasn’t appeared as a custom before (at least, not as far as I’ve been aware), but better late than never! It’s a great song and fun to play as well, the best parts being Vocals and Keys in my opinion. In the choruses, solo vocals does all the ‘para’s, while in Harmony they’re split between vocalists, like the band do in their performances of the song.

Florence + the Machine – Ship to Wreck

 

Next up is Ship to Wreck, the first track from Florence + the Machine’s latest album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’. I love this song more every time I hear it – it’s perfect pop music delivered in a wonderfully alternative way. I’d strongly recommend trying this out, just to listen to the song if nothing else. It’s especially fun to play on vocals and guitar. The drum part might not be entirely accurate as it’s hard to make out the cymbals under the percussion that’s being played, but it’s fun enough to play still. Enjoy!

 

Ash – Petrol

 

Finally is an early track by Northern Ireland’s finest (arguably), Ash. Petrol is from their debut EP Trailer, released in 1994 when the band members were only about 17 years old. It’s a catchy song with some nice riffing and soloing, a surprisingly difficult and, dare I say it, metal-esque bassline and a tricky drum part. Paradise is a welcome addition to my cPlayer setlist. Also glad to see another Ash custom, they’re not very popular it seems with customs.
