Hi,
Can anyone advise me if you plug the led controller via usb to the xbox while the ps2 cable is unplugged from the led it should automatically asign a player slot?
I am trying to be find out if the light or fogger is faullty, as i cant get the light controller to work at all, thanks
June 14, 2014 at 6:20 pm #422545Have you tried testing out your stage kit on a PC? If you install SK Lightworks you can run the stage kit from your PC. You can test out the lights and stuff there (though, you need the fogger/strobe plugged in to the LED controller to be able to use it. But you can turn on/off each individual component so maybe that would let you figure out what part isn’t working). http://sklightworks.com/ is where you can download the program to run it.
June 14, 2014 at 9:59 pm #422560Hi! For using the lights you have to plug the ps2 to the fog machine I mean, you have to install the whole set (Fog machine included even if you don’t want to use it)then you control the lights/fog with the switches that are on the back of the fog machine.you can’t use the lights whithout plugging the ps2 and this always use a player slot in the game (but you can use it as a controller for vocals)
P.S.-Sorry for my lame English.
June 15, 2014 at 1:24 am #422579Thanks guys will try the pc software kit tomorrow to see if i can get it to come to life.
June 15, 2014 at 1:31 am #422580Make sure you follow instructions on the lightworks page. It’s pretty handy for parties too, not just rock band.
June 15, 2014 at 4:49 pm #422614Well as i suspected, no joy.
I already had the xbox controller for windows installed on my pc as have used my wireless controller on windows before, once all hooked up i plug the light controller into the pc the strobe flashes once on the fogger but still does not assign it player 1 (or any player for that matter), its just dead!
Done another test plugging in my midi adapter connected to my roland 1 drum kit and plugged it into the pc and it assigns player 1 straight away so that rules out the software not working on the pc.
I bought a £15 PS2 cable male/male from maplins i am assuming any ps2 cable should do or is there a specific one i need? maybe i should try powering the led with a usb to ps2 convertor without the fogger? at this point i dont know if its the ps2 cable, fogger or the light itself, bit of a nightmare
Thanks for your advice guys.
July 10, 2014 at 9:32 pm #424417Since I found out that the Stage Kit can work with RB3 (previously heard it only works with RB2) I really want one, but they seem to be quite hard to come across now. I live in the UK which makes it even harder, do you have any tips on getting hold of one apart from just getting lucky on ebay and expect to pay around £100 plus shipping for it?
October 3, 2015 at 10:44 am #456598you need the fogger/strobe plugged in to the LED controller to be able to use it.
THANK YOU I thought I had a dud, the controls are working on the LED device but the LED are not, now I know I need to connect it to the strobe/fogger for the LEDs to work, right in to town now to buy a US to UK adapter.
