Nobody has mentioned The Weakerthans in this thread yet, so I guess I’ll have to ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> . Off the top of my head, some (indie rock) songs that would be awesome to have in RB:
The Weakerthans:
– a bit lower key, but still an awesome song (with amazing lyrics)
And one from their lead singer’s solo album, simple but the lyrics are quite fun:
John K. Samson –
May 9, 2013 at 11:03 pm #399472What? You don’t want some Celine Dion?
Something from April Wine is on my short list to do at some point. Not sure yet which song it will be though.
Also, Default should be on that list. Lots of good songs from them to do.

Fantastic idea, but I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for
. But while we’re on the subject of John Sampson, may I suggest Propagandhi?
…and in case you though this post wasn’t Canadian enough,
May 15, 2013 at 1:08 am #399646Some more adds. Yes, I may be cheating my own rules a bit with covers of non-CanCon songs by Canadian Artists. Deal with it.

May 15, 2013 at 1:42 am #399647Well, funny you bring up Billy Talent, because in the customs song Database, DeadCanadian has quite a lot of Billy Talent songs up, including Billy Talent II in its entirety. Granted, some of the links are messed up, like “Red Flag” leading to “Where is the Line,” but there you go. Sounds like a potential From the Vault release to me.
May 15, 2013 at 1:45 am #399648Yeah, I actually reviewed vocals for the version of Red Flag that’s on there, but I can’t remember if it was a full RB3 feature-rich version or not. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

May 15, 2013 at 12:04 pm #399661I’m guessing Arcade Fire didn’t meet the regulation in some way.

I’m getting old! Sorry!
May 15, 2013 at 12:48 pm #399665I’m guessing Arcade Fire didn’t meet the regulation in some way.It didn’t meet the “songs I like” criteria to merit me looking at it at the onset, but it’s not like I’ve gone through the entire catalogue of Canadian content yet. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>
May 19, 2013 at 12:48 pm #399811Shocked not to see Pat Travers on this list. I have a spreadsheet I’ve had since RB1 with the top 300 songs I felt would be perfect for Rock Band for cool factor and full band fun (many of which have been released), but number 12 on my list that’s still not available is “Boom Boom, Out Go the Lights! (Live)”. Also, his treatment of “Bang Bang, My Baby Shot Me Down” would play great too. Those need to be at the top of your Canadian project list.
May 19, 2013 at 1:27 pm #399813List is far from complete, so expect him to show up on there eventually (there are a view other obvious no shows at this point, I’m sure).
May 19, 2013 at 1:29 pm #399814Someone else already mentioned Travers in another thread, but I’ll mention him again (same song) – “I La-la-la-love You” from the Valley Girl soundtrack. Great high-energy song. I had no idea he was Canadian. What a hurdle to overcome!
