    Hi all!

I’m trying to manually do some lightning and camera using venue track and text events.

As I’m doing it for the first time I would like to know which midi lanes can I use so I don’t get error in magma?

Cause I tried to put some midi notes on few lanes but I got magma error “Venue bad midi note at..” Can’t remember which lane nr. as I’m at work now, but I got a lot of venue errors.

RBN 2.0 doesn’t use the MIDI lanes anymore – it’s all by text events, except for spotlights and singalongs.

That’s why the C3 REAPER template doesn’t include those note names anymore. I hope you’re using the C3 template.

ohh I see. So I need to delete all midi notes I’ve placed… lucky I didn’t place them much.

Do you know the reason why? It’s automated?

Yes, I’m usually using c3 template or RBN2 template.

It’s not automated. Read the docs.

Also I think it is possible to have MIDI Cleaner convert the MIDI venues to text event venues now if I remember correctly, so if so I would say to do that now and then work from there so you won’t lose all your progress on working on it

        Nyxyxylyth:

I note you state the exception being spotlights and singalongs….

I have placed my singalong entries on the appropriate MIDI lanes…. MAGMA is happy…. yet, when I place entries for SPOTLIGHT on the corresponding MIDI row (as denoted by ‘SPOTLIGHT on …’ / left hand side of the MIDI editor)… MAGMA complains with Bad MIDI Note …. what am I doing wrong…?

Just came across this myself: it seems that Magma wants to place spotlights where there are Guitar Solo markers. If you put guitar spotlights in those sections manually, the overlap with the new auto-placed notes will cause the error.
