Problem with midi pro adapter.

Hello,
I have been verry happy user of midi pro adapter for maybe almost a year. I ‘m using it only for drums witch is maybe not a top class stuff but it worked perfectly fine. Few days ago when i turned my xbox on to enjoy some tracks ,my xbox didn’t response to my hitting. Everything seems to be fine at start because midi pro adapter was turned on ,its buttons works and midi was plugged. When adapter is set to drums diode don’t blink at all same as in the keyes but in guitar SOS code. I have checked the cable in store and its works fine so it can be adapter or drums but it also works perfectly without adapter.
Did you have something like that ? Pls help

Plug the cable back in and that should probably do it. I don’t have MIDI instruments but the problem seems to be the xbox. If that doesn’t work try unplugging all cords from the MIDI adapter.I did that but looks like its not it but thank you for the response.
I replugged adapter to another xbox usb and same with all the cords in every way ( there is only 2: midi cable to drums and usb to xbox).I suggest trying with another cable even if your cable worked with other MIDI gear. I recall some people saying (on facebook and rock band forums) that a really cheap MIDI cable could stop working with the MPA but still works with regular MIDI gear. Not sure what’s the cause, either way it’s cheaper to try another cable than trying another MPA.
All in all it could be multiple problems until you test them all you won’t know what it is: MPA MIDI port defective (or other things; such as bad USB connection but I think not since you said hitting the switch on guitar throws a SOS signal which is what it should do if it doesn’t recieve the correct data from a MIDI guitar), Drum module MIDI port defective, weak/broken MIDI cable. I don’t think it could be anything else.
If you really want to test further you could test the MPA on PhaseShift (if it’s an xbox MPA) as it also works there. Throwing this out since someone said it could be a power supply problem, which I doubt but you never know.
Diddn’t think that the cable could work with other instrument and dont work with MPA. I hope it may be it .

I tried to plug a RB keyboard to adapter by midi . Leds on the instrument appear in red colour but in MPA even if i change to keys dont appear at all.It could still be a broken MPA. If you happen to have the ability to connect the MIDI devices to a computer (not using the MPA) to see if those devices are working, that’s a good test. I think it’s more likely that the adapter failed instead of several MIDI devices all at once.
I’ve had an MPA fail on me, so it’s definitely possible. My failure was very similar to this: one day working the next day not. It’s a pity they have finite life spans, but it happens even to the best of electronics.
