How many people here play pro-keys? If you do, do you play on Expert or a lower difficulty?

I bought the keyboard just to try it out. I beat RB3 on expert keys but it didn’t really satisfy me. I then tried Pro Keys and I was slaughtered. Haven’t tried it much since. I personally see no point in playing on anything less than expert. I just don’t have the will power to practice the keyboard enough to get any good at it.

I remember I was so excited about the new keyboard peripheral. I had bought the bundle at launch and the first song I tried was “Cold As Ice” on hard pro keys. I failed miserably. Since then I’ve gotten better but I mostly play on easy/medium now. Pro keys is probably my least played instrument.

I find the challenge to be more annoying than entertaining, and I play to be entertained. So just like with Pro Guitar / Pro Bass, I tried Pro Keys and didn’t take to it, and have ignored it since. I can do 90%+ on Expert Pro Keys on Linkin Park’s Numb, does that count :haw: Other than that I only play 5-lane keys or the other instruments.

I play pro keys and, since you asked about difficulty, I’ve FCed Roundabout on expert.

I find the instrument really fun and the note charts gave me a great intro to music theory actually. Seeing the general idea of notes and chords being played in the song helps a lot.

I don’t play it yet. I have the keyboard back home and when I return I want to try it out again. Charting the keys for my Chicago charts is the biggest reason I’ll give it another shot.

I got the keyboard bundle when it came out, but keys are by far my least played instrument. I just don’t find it as fun as the others and I have a lot more content that doesn’t have keys so I mostly just don’t play it.

I only chart pro keys to hear my pro keys ringer friend play it (external amp). Never touch the stuff, myself.

Play it every time I play on PS3, would have played it A LOT on Xbox too if I could find one of those MIDI Pro Adapters. I play on Expert, though not good enough to FC or even 5 star most songs (I did do pretty well on Antibodies once though so I am happy about that)

I usually played on Medium pro keys whenever I wasn’t in the mood to do much setup. Good fun.

Expert all the way. I’d like to think if I stuck with it, I’d be able to give mazegeek a run for his money. But probably not.

Awesome. The real reason I’m asking this question is that I’m contemplating on releasing my customs to the community. I have “Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” by Elton John. Expert Guitar and Expert Pro-Keys are ready to go. I also have 6 more Elton John songs I want to get the bare minimum done by the beginning of February. Interested? I’ll open a thread over at “Other Customs Discussion” if so.

I am a Pro-Keys oriented charter. The bare minimum as stated earlier is that I do Expert Pro-Keys (no 5-lane keys) and Expert Guitar (because I have a friend who plays it). I see almost no reason to finish the rest up because nobody (on my end) really plays these parts. However, just for CC, I can chart all difficulties on Guitar with little effort and perhaps bass occasionally. I have no game drums experience so I can’t promise you quality charts in that department. I dedicate 2 hours a night to charting customs and I don’t intend to change those habits.

You missed a C. Without a third C, we wouldn’t be a Collective. With it, your input is greatly appreciated

With Elton John in particular, pro keys are the stumbling block. I’m sure we can find someone to fill the rest in.

I got the keyboard bundle, I immediately started by trying Bohemian Rhapsody on expert pro keys, it didn’t go well. After about a month of getting used to dealing with 10 buttons on the screen, getting used to chord shapes, and getting better at navigating the lane I was comfortable with expert, as long as it wasn’t anything too crazy.

Now I can gold star most of the one-disc stuff, I’ve gold starred some crazy ones like Light My Fire, and 5-starred On the Backs of Angels. It’s probably my favorite instrument, it also got me into the real thing.

Whether or not I play Pro Keys, I would be all for seeing some Elton John customs. Depending on which ones they are I would be willing to offer my services in fleshing out the charts.
