Hi, guys! We’re trying to figure out what elements we should focus on for C3 releases, and everyone loves internet polls, right?
Please pick the things that are most important to you. If something is “nice to have”, but you can go either way on it, please don’t vote for that thing.
The poll will close in 7 days. Thanks!
June 7, 2013 at 4:26 pm #400777I picked popular songs I like that are challenging. I don’t understand why a person wants RB to be their personal iPod and sit there doing nothing or the same thing for the entire song. Same goes for the people who want some obscure tracks that only fans of the group have heard of. That’s what RBN is for.
June 7, 2013 at 4:27 pm #400778That’s an easy guess, but probably the most difficult task to come by…
How you present the song, really. Building the presentation, choosing appropriate animations, lighting, and effects.
There’s is no shame nor pride in turning on presentation mode to see how well-crafted you make the band perform.

Same goes for the people who want some obscure tracks that only fans of the group have heard of. That’s what RBN is for.I thought RBN was for really shitty death metalshit. Nothing wrong with wanting good music that you like in the game, known or not, challenging or not. Playing music in this game is more than getting a challenge.
June 7, 2013 at 6:51 pm #400795I thought RBN was for really shitty death metal. You are now aware that RBN was primarily established to satisfy the wants of the “MOAR METAL” fans.
The second reason was to continue the official DLC flow in the case that HMX would stop releasing DLC, which is what’s happening now.

Same goes for the people who want some obscure tracks that only fans of the group have heard of. That’s what RBN is for.No, RBN is for doing things though legal licensing, and only when the multitrack masters still exist.
Customs are for when a label or band isn’t interested, or when the multitracks can’t be used.
So I see no reason why fans of “obscure” bands should be exiled from Customsland for their *superior* music tastes! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
June 7, 2013 at 7:28 pm #400801My own personal opinion, I just want songs I can play that are charted well. I don’t care about multitracks at all, so if in the example of the recent custom of the master track of a cover vs a non multitrack, I’d take the original. I just wanna play the song with good charts, and everything charted. Don’t care about multitracks or venue feel or FX being special. Just want to play the song.

June 7, 2013 at 9:18 pm #400815As far as playing the songs in RB3 goes, I don’t mind it not being a multitrack. I don’t go to RB parties so I just want songs I personally know and like, or that are really fun on 5-button (or pro) guitar.
June 7, 2013 at 9:30 pm #400820I think the thing I care least about is the multitracks. Sure they are nice to have…but in no way important to me. I just want to play the song…I don’t care if the music cuts out or not.
June 7, 2013 at 9:54 pm #400826i’m surprised to hear the lack of interest in multitracks. for a lot of people i’ve come across it’s a deal breaker for them.
I help host an RB event every week, and i’ve help set up someone in Oregon who does it as well, now with customs, and for both of us it’s important to at least have separated vocals, since vocalists dont want to compete with the original singer.
for me, I just want songs that I like or that my friends like. that encompasses almost everything since my friends range from Barbie Girl and Wannabe to Demons and Beer, Metal, Trolls and Vomit, and everything in between.
absolutely must be full band and emhx. but that’s a given with C3
June 7, 2013 at 10:45 pm #400835it’s important to at least have separated vocals, since vocalists dont want to compete with the original singer. This is VERY important to me. I love the GnR customs we have, but I hate having to duet with Axl Rose.
June 8, 2013 at 3:02 am #400856Multitrack: Not very important to me. I always thought this hurt HMX having to use masters. You see the multiplier drop. If you have it turned on you hear the noise of a missed note. I don’t see why it was so important to people that the track audio dropped out if they missed a note. Especially since this is a party game. The people watching don’t want to not hear the guitar track because someone playing has had too many drinks to hit a note.
5 button Guitar and Bass: No preference. Totally up to the author.
Pro Drums: Without masters I know how hard this it to do. So if you get close enough. That’s fine by me.
Separated Vocals: I really am fine with or without it. I think Nemo puts so much emphasis on it because the people at the bar want to use RB as karaoke. They want people to hear how well they sing the song. They don’t care what the results screen says.
Vocal Chart Accuracy: It’s no secret in my RB days I was a stickler for vocal accuracy and was very vocal about it on twitter if a chart was bad. That is because if I was paying for a chart I wanted it to be accurate. I know the people here are doing these song out of the love of the game and kindness. So I am not going to be so critical. If it’s a song I really like then I may offer the author some suggestions on things to change.
Overall: I download songs I like. As long as they are EMHX thats what matters. People who has never played RB before and casuals won’t know if a song chart it good or bad. All they will know is they had a good time playing it.

I do sing. I voxtar a lot. But this game isn’t Singstar or Lips. If the song isn’t interesting/complex on more than two instruments, take a walk. We don’t need it. It’s not a party song than if only one person is enjoying playing it (we all might like listening to it, but this is a game, not a jukebox!).
This is why 90% of the players walked away. HMX was fulfilling short-sighted requests by morons who just want their song, without taking into account everyone. Out of all the dlc there are like 2% that the entire band will want to play. It’s stupid because these things should be obvious to everyone from playing online with strangers and seeing what gets picked. No one EVER picked a song below tier 4, and everyone backed out on their instrument if it sucked. Believe it or not, there are actually plenty of songs that all those tastes can agree on over multiple genres. We just don’t have enough of them because we were being bombarded with “an eclectic” mix of crap that is good for one play through, then it collects dust.

No what this means is, why waste time and effort on sharing a custom only 0.005 people want. Why would you want to follow the model of RBN when a custom charter has access to ANY Song they want?! It makes sense for RBN, at least they can get some money for their work and a lil exposure if they are lucky. It only makes sense for a custom charter if they really really love that song and don’t care who else wants it (which is fine). In which case they have every right to make that song. But for those charters “asking” what people want, he/she shouldn’t be taking requests on some underground ska band that is never going to produce a hit song, has a terrible singer, and a guitarist who has to eyeball his guitar the entire time to play simple chord scales. Skip that and go straight to a song that has been a numerous movie soundtracks (so most know it), and sounds like fun to play.
That song would be a great RB song, it has fun harmonies, and noticeable guitar sound w/small solo and a few drum roll sections. But no one has heard of it. Who the hell would choose it at a RB party?
More people would rather play this
June 8, 2013 at 3:32 am #400861Full Pro Instruments (minus pro keys) is only tracks I ever bought. I practice the songs I like day and night, and can’t stand when I can’t follow because RB3 in game song lessons don’t turn down slow enough.
I cant wait to get fluent in all this software. So I can give Pro Guitar/Bass and Pro Drums to all the songs I like.
