May 12, 2014 at 6:19 pm #420063New Song: Scorpions – No One Like You
After seeing that Spindoctor put out the Scorpions track from GH80s, I booted it and had a blast with it. Then I noticed how it sounded just like it did in the older game engine. Make everything loud, and turn guitar past 11. Silly Harmonix of yesteryear. Moar volume! So I went back to the GH80s disc, pulled new stem rips, did a bit of tweaking, and jammed them into a clone con with C3 Magma for testing. It sounded pretty nice, even Fake Klaus Meine sounds great. (Sorry Fake Steven Tyler.)
Obviously I’m not going to step on toes by re-upping the test con, but I will provide the audio (as usual) for you to do with as you like. Check the first two posts for links etc etc.
I will redo this song with your audio, if it works I will definitely convert some of the older pre GH World Tour tunes using your audio with credit givin to you. I also have no problem with anyone who wants to upgrade any of my converts.
May 13, 2014 at 5:04 am #420124Well after several tries at making this song better, I have given up hope. Your audio work definitely sounds better & is more balanced, but no matter what I do I still get clipping or interference of some kind. This happens with every file pre World tour. I have put a lot of time into making these & I would rather spend my time doing files I know work. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the song ogg or backing track, if you listen to it alone it has guitar in it as well as vocals & drums. I have actually noticed this clipping/interference with the original rockband as well, not as bad but its there

May 13, 2014 at 9:57 pm #420166I believe your right about the RB3 engine. When I listen to the oggs by themselves or together in Audacity it is crisp, clean sound and in stereo. When I produce a con the sound has changed drastically and the voice is mono on the right channel. The audio you provided is way better than the con I originally created. I made at least 10 runs through magma using attenuation with the same results each time, I even tried it as an single MP3 file and get the same interference. It is very frustrating.
Thanks for providing these files and although I am frustrated by it I will probably keep trying for better results.

May 14, 2014 at 6:49 am #420210Check out my thread page 10, Max Pain explains attenuation http://www.pksage.com/ccc/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1915&start=180#p23225
originally when I made the song into a con, He told me I put bass at -4 attenuation when in fact I didn’t touch it
May 14, 2014 at 8:38 am #420212It’s an old known Magma bug. Is the audio rendered from Reaper in mono or stereo?
May 14, 2014 at 2:37 pm #420223It’s an old known Magma bug. Is the audio rendered from Reaper in mono or stereo?I render them in stereo through Reaper, I never thought of trying mono.
May 14, 2014 at 3:00 pm #420224If you have vocals in the song, put the audio track on vocals instead of backing, pute mute on backing and the bug is gone.
May 14, 2014 at 4:16 pm #420236If you have vocals in the song, put the audio track on vocals instead of backing, pute mute on backing and the bug is gone.I can probably do talky vocals on them, hopefully with this new info I can make these into decent sounding songs, thanks for the info Farottone

I think somebody figured out what it was since I discovered it, which was a couple of years ago, but I very very rarely do 2 instruments songs (that’s then the bug happens, it depends on the number of instruments) so I never investigated it much.

Thank you Farottone for letting me know about this bug/workaround, tried a song last night & got normal sounding audio for the first time with these files after many attempts.
You da MAN
