July 26, 2015 at 5:42 pm #451243The PC version of GH3 uses MP3 files. You can unpack them from the fsb.xen containers with this batch file. I had a previous one that sorted them…its seemed to have vanished now. xDhttp://www76.zippyshare.com/v/61618911/file.html
::EDiT:: btw, only gh2/dlc(for x36) used the mogg container. All games after and including GH3 use mp3/xma(ps3&PC/x360).
And the PS2 version of GH2 used .vgs files which a software known as Guitar Hero Explorer was able to export and import audio files into. Dunno what was with the change in audio formats though for the 360. But at least the .mogg files of GH2360 aren’t encrypted like many RB .mogg files.

August 25, 2015 at 10:18 pm #453586I have a question. Could you please elaborate on how you found these Behind Blue Eyes stems in the RB1 disc? I’m listening to them right now and they definitely sound like a cover version.

I’m listening to them right now and they definitely sound like a cover version.I had heard about the track back on some forum in 2009 that people had found some months prior. After finding the right tools and instructions on using them, I managed to extract them from the disc image. It was in a buried folder named Worstcase, which led me to believe the track was some sort of last resort consideration that got cut, but wasn’t removed before the discs were made. Along with that track were a few shorter karaoke versions of Green Grass and High Tides, Foreplay/Long Time, Train Kept a Rollin’, and Won’t Get Fooled Again. It’s mid file was incomplete and unplayable in Rock Band. However a custom mid file was made so that it could be played in Phase Shift.

September 27, 2015 at 1:43 am #456020Hey! What’s up? lol
Guess what I pulled out of my (whoops, nearly said too much!)
I figured out how to sync those Singstar Guitar songs.
I’ve got one downloaded, Ever Fallen In Love? by The Buzzcocks, and after some audio cutting in Audacity, the audio sounds great!
Question now is…would you like the synced audio? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Hey I’d love a copy of that audio. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I’m surprised someone finally got around to doing anything with it actually. lol
Now if only someone could make a custom of it. *cough*
I’ve fixed all the links in the 2nd post to stop them from loading the forum home page. Other than that, nothing new atm. Its a race between syncing/mastering more On Tour Tracks, and getting the rest of the on-disc songs of Warriors of Rock done for bluzer.

December 3, 2015 at 7:47 pm #460208A major minor update:
I completely rebuilt new stems for the Guitar Hero 3 master track of Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden, from the ground up. I’m not sure if it was just rumors from years ago, but I remember hearing that a lot of people, including the band themselves, were pretty unhappy with how the mix of the song was handled in GH3. Although I tried my hand at mastering the source mp3s earlier on, I still wasn’t really satisfied with them. So, using a new source, I went back and not only mixed new stems, but also synced them, and tried mastering them into a brand new mix for everyone to use.
You can find the new version for download next to the originals in the GH3 section.
Also, the Master Mid File has been updated with fresh rips of the PS2 GH3 mid files, which differ somewhat from the 360 ones. I’ll also look into getting hold of some Wii rips as well, at some point hopefully.

I recall that MIDI was also used for drummer animations in GH3. You gonna try and include those as well?

I believe bluzer was actually going to pick those up from asskickulator’s old project on the FoF forums, iirc, for his guitar hero project. (When he gets to 3.) I personally won’t be.
Although if any of the songs get ported as RB3 customs, I can see people updating the drum charts for those.
