I’m on Phase Shift, and apparently the Phase Shift download doesn’t have the marked solo yet, neither on Pro Guitar nor Regular Guitar.

October 11, 2014 at 6:49 am #430917great work!!! been waiting to play some of these! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

October 11, 2014 at 1:45 pm #430923Mmhh, I think drums in Africa are not charted correctly. If you get the Africa song in a audio editor, then split them to mono and invert one of it, you can clearly hear the cowbell that goes static and steadily for all the song… so, what are all these cymbal notes in Africa?
Excuse me, but I want to understand…
Anyway, thanks for the customs!!!

It’s charted as a disco beat to make it a little easier and fit in with the soft rock idea better. There was some debate about whether it’s just an electronic backing track, but the consensus was to leave it in.
The bongos and cowbells are not in the chart. It’s always a difficult choice when there’s double tracked percussion.

This can be very problematic when charting drums. My girlfriend loves Godmacks “Serenity” and wants me to chart it but with two percussion tracks it is just not possible.

Thank you sirs…

Would it perhaps be possible to make a Other Customs edit of it with the bongos and cowbells charted instead of hats by any chance?

*Dies from pure awesomeness*.
October 11, 2014 at 7:48 pm #430935When I first heard “hold the line,” I thought it was saying golden eye. So I thought maybe it was for the bond movie Golden eye. Till I later found out the song was from the 70’s. Good song either way.

October 13, 2014 at 3:06 pm #431019Africa is one of those songs I’ve been saying “man, I wish…” about since I first picked up RB. The rest are great, too…more than one of the Toto songs falls in the “oh, yeah…that’s a great song! That was Toto?” category. Thanks, authors.
October 14, 2014 at 11:40 am #431048Nice pack. I’m not a fan of Toto at all but these are very fun to play on keys and drums. Also Hold the Line on pro keys provided me with the second largest sight read score ever after Green Carnation’s Light of Day, Day of Darkness, which has the slight advantage of lasting 60 minutes.
I was wondering if anybody else has been getting the feeling that the outro of Africa might be a little out of synch? Both on drums and keys I start dropping a lot of hits after the “vocal break” part, even though they seem to be identical to stuff I can easily play earlier in the song. Has anyone else noticed something being off or is there some slight change in divison that I’m just not picking up?
