Hey guys, farottone here! No, your TV set is not broken, this IS the amazing home of the original Nunchuck and Sygenysis’ Customs Funhouse. It’s just that for this week you still get your awesome dose of Nunchuck and Sy’s customs but with a farottone twist! Oh yeah, these supercool lads are letting me guest host this week’s release, and there’s a good reason for that. In less than 2 weeks, Thursday February 4th, is the world premiere of House of Customs, the brand new customs series I’ve been working on for the past weeks. Let’s get the promo first out of the way so you can get to today’s customs!
Now, if you checked my House of Customs thread you already know that this is coming, but since you are loyal Nunchuck and Sy’s fans, I kept a golden nugget for you here.
Thursday 4th is the premiere of the new series, but next Thursday, same time (7PM EST), I will be airing the pilote episode! It’s a one-song episode and it’s gonna have a somewhat comeback theme. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> Plus, it’s a collaboration between me, Nunchuck and Sy!
So, Nunchuck and Sy, thank you so much for being such gracious hosts. These guys are the most friendly and selfless people around and it’s been a privilege being able to talk about my new series here. Next week is the one year anniversary of their incredible journey to bring you new content every week (can you imagine the amount of work that goes into 52 consecutive weekly releases?) and I personally couldn’t be more happy to have them in our community! Next stop in my promo tour is Kemiroch’s thread on January 28th: be there to find out about a new initiative tied to the new series!
Now that the yadda yadda is done, let’s get to the customs. This week consists of 6 collaborations and one exclusive song that would have been part of the House of Customs first season.
First of all, all songs are full band, piched vocals, etc., the usual C3 kind of release. Your Song does not have keys because it’s one of those songs that not even for weekly C3 releases we would have produced. Also, except for one, all artists featured here will be also featured in an episode of House of Customs in the future, though not necessarily in the first season.

Release Notes
Your Song is a beautiful Elton John ballad that will not provide a challenge but could be fun at parties, considering it’s a ver popular song from him and on the Rolling Stones 500 Greates Songs of All Time. Sy did guitar and bass, which is something because guitar is just crazy buried.
Find a Way to My Heart is a great Phil Collins song off …But Seriously, which is a multi-platinum, best selling album for the 1990 in the UK release. Very very fun on drums, great to sing, plenty of brass instruments on keys and a super cool bass track, which Sy authored majestically.
Julia by Pavlov’s Dog. Now, this one’s a gem: if you knew this song or band before this release, I am both surprised and happy for you. Pavlov’s Dog are/were a prog band that started out as a niche act with a cult following and never got to experience fame. Pavlov’s Dog signature feature is of course David Surkamp’s impossibly high pitched vocals that are something to be listened to to understand. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> Julia is a beautiful slow ballad with a cool flute solo. Guitar and bass courtesy of Sy!
Goodnight Moon is an alternative rock single by Shivaree that is fun to sing and that fans of Kill Bill will probably remember…
Up next are 3 Queensryche singles, for which Sy did guitar, bass and drums.
Prophecy is a true metal anthem: if you like Judas Priest in example you will like this one. Good drumming, soldi guitar and bass and very powerful vocals.Chasing Blue Sky is a B-side single off Hear in the Now Frontier, the last album with DeGarmo on guitar. It’s a very laid back tune with superlow vocals. In fact, if you can sing Prophecy and this one without transposing, you are a freak. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
Finally, Last Time in Paris is a B-side single off Empire, their best selling album, with a great tempo and good on all instruments.
Well, this was incredibly fun! I hope you guys enjoyed this release as much as we did working on it. Again, I want to thank Nunchuck and Sy for the awesome privilege of guest hosting their 99th release and I’m gonna look forward to their 100th release, as I know you all are. See you guys on the House of Customs thread for more info and of course don’t miss next Thursday the pilot episode!
Oh, I was just about to forget…

January 23, 2016 at 8:04 pm #462439Hey there Rockers,
I am so thrilled about this release. It is like being on stage with your favorite band. Words cannot express how great this is to me.
If this is a dream I don’t wanna wake up. Thank you Farottone, not only for this collaboration, but for being a mentor.
Everybody enjoy these great songs. Have a great weekend!
See ya Monday with hints!

I cannot parse this grammar but I think I get the general message, lol
January 23, 2016 at 11:43 pm #462447This was a really awesome week, big thanks to Farottone for giving us an easy week to work with, since we haven’t really had a break in a while. Each song this week was fun to work with, and the Queensryche songs are very nice to have out, especially Last Time in Paris, which is one of my favorite songs of all time.
I’m thankful that we were able to help out with this release, and we support Farottone all of the way for all of his ventures!

Does that mean the keys were too hard to chart? Guess I don’t understand the point of releasing the song this way.

There are songs in which keys go in and out of the mix to the point where you would need to author them in a way that makes no sense. In those cases the choice is between not releasing the song becase the least played instrument is missing or releasing what is going to be the most downloaded song of the lot. The choice is pretty easy, to be honest. Naturally if anybody wants to contribute pro keys I am more than happy to incorporate them. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

Figured it had to be something like that. Unfortunately, it will have to be yet another incomplete song I’ll have to pass on. Thanks for the clarification!
January 24, 2016 at 1:57 am #462453Great release and thank you very much for some great Elton John!

Aw, come on…
I mean it’s one thing to say “It’s a shame to have no keys, given that Elton’s a famous player.”
But to say that there’s no point otherwise? It’s not that big of a stretch to think that other players might be interested in the song in general, or other instruments specifically. Especially vocals.
ESPECIALLY VOCALS.
I. Mean. Come. On.
January 24, 2016 at 4:10 am #462459This is a great release guys. Great to see the Grand Poobah of customs is back in the game.
Thanks for sharing
