Great week guys! dlauthor and FujiSkunk got Love is Alive in the same minute, that is a first for our hints. Thank you guys!
Here is a little something about the three tracks that I picked this week:
Little Green Bag was actually titled ‘Little Green Back’, but somehow the record company misprinted the single and shipped it. It became a hit under the wrong name. It was featured in the opening credits sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
Brother Louie by Stories is a cover of a Hot Chocolate song. The Hot Chocolate version had a spoken word section that featured the racially charged words honky and spook. Stories covered it altering it slightly (removing that section plus another verse) and got a number 1 hit out of this classic. This one will get stuck in your head.
I Was Made for Dancin’ was a big hit for Leif Garrett. He was a teenage heart-throb. It is a catchy dance song with everything it needs to be a riot in RB.
We hope you enjoy these tracks. We will return soon with more hints and songs for you to rock!
Remember to Rock Out… Life is Short
November 23, 2015 at 2:32 pm #459715If I ever dig myself out from all the other projects I’m working on, and of course once I’ve made good on my current commitment to the Beatles discography project (I promise I haven’t forgotten, Farratone!), I just might have to take a crack at adding pitched vocals to “Love Is Alive”.
Either which way, awesome set of tunes. Thanks!
November 23, 2015 at 10:35 pm #459728Hey there Rockers,
It is Monday and that means it is time for some hints. This week we have a themed 3 pack and 3 singles. Have a blast roping these ones in.
Hint for song #1 – Our first track this week is from a second-generation artist. This song is one of this artist’s signature songs. This timeless classic champions the rural way of life.
Hint for song #2 – This next band mixed rock, pop and country to be one of the best selling bands ever. This band has many accolades including Bob Hope Humanitarian award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This song was a number one country hit, in fact it was the band’s 14th #1 Country single in a row.
Hint for song #3 – These two legends got together to make an album. When the smoke cleared, they gave us this new classic song with a catchy play on words.
Hint for song #4 – This track is from a band created by and named after its founder. This Italian guitar virtuoso also did several solo albums before re-forming the band years later. This week’s track is the first song from the band’s second full length album.
Hint for song #5 – Our next track comes from a Welsh alternative rock band. This track was featured in a racing game. The title to the track is also a video game reference in and of its own.
Hint for song #6 – Our final track this week comes from a South Korean hip-hop band. This song was a big hit in Asia. This K-pop song will make you bounce.
Check back Saturday and get the songs. Have a great Thanksgiving!
