Lillian Axe is a great band. I love their Poetic Justice album. Ever think of doing True Believer or See You Someday for rock band? Anyway, good stuff man. Thanks for your continuous efforts ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I apologize for a week that most people might consider “skip-able”, but I really wanted to release some hidden gems that I felt were insanely underappreciated, and what better way to do it than a milestone like 300? Even if you’ve never heard of any of the songs, I think they’re all worth checking out. In particular, NWBJ is one of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard, and definitely in my top 100, or 50 songs of all time. I’m also thankful that my friend Max was able to help out and provide the lyrical transliteration for it.
Either way, the Aeternitas song was one of my favorite songs released for a project I also contributed to on FoF, the Phase Shift Guitar Project 2, and I felt it would be great as a full band song, even though the drums are a bit relentless. The guitar and keys parts were originally done by GhostByob, and we tweaked them when we thought it was appropriate. Vocals were done by us, and only the main vocal part is pitched, which is appropriate for the way the backing vocals are sung.
Dirge for the Planet is from the soundtracks of both STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, and STALKER Clear Sky, along with two other Firelake songs. DftP is the least involved of the songs they did, but either way, it’s a really pretty song to listen, and I wouldn’t have done it otherwise if this wasn’t a special week.
We really hope you guys enjoy these, and we’re going back to normal next week, so if you didn’t like this week, hopefully better luck next week!

But anyway I’m looking forward to play it tonight ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

They fall more under lesser known. It is cool you dig it. Thank you! One man’s lesser known is common to another, depending on your interests. You just have good taste is all.

November 16, 2015 at 10:05 pm #459396Hey there Rockers,
Happy Monday! Welcome back for another week of trivia to test your brainpower or google-power as it may be.
We decided it was about time for a themed week. This coming Saturday will be a themed week, if you get one and find the theme, Bang! Bob’s your uncle.
Here are this week’s hints and clues…
Hint for song #1 – Our first track this week is actually known by the wrong title. The song title was misprinted, the song became a hit so the mis-naming stayed. This track was used for the opening title sequence of one of my favorite films, by one of my favorite directors.
Hint for song #2 – Our next track would be considered a one hit wonder. It reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This soul-ish cover song was made a mere 6 months after the original. Some people think it is Rod Stewart, but it is not.
Hint for song #3 – This next song is from a teen heart-throb that was a singer and an actor, as well as being a poster on many a girl’s wall. This top ten hit came from this artist’s second album. Like many young stars, his life would be a series of drug-related problems.
Hint for song #4 – Next we have a song that was a #2 Billboard hit. This track came from an album that also had another #2 hit in its title track. Prior to this successful solo work, this artist was in a great 60’s band with a cool name and played on a multi-platinum George Harrison album.
Hint for song #5 – This band has quite a few tracks in RB, this one is from their 5th studio album. Sadly, it is the last album with this line-up due to tragedy.
Hint for song #6 – This Detroit band was part of the pioneers of what would become punk rock. This track was their first ever release in a limited run of 500 copies. This band is so influential they made a documentary film about them in 2013.
We hope you dig the hints. We can’t wait to see if you get them all. I have faith in you! Check back Saturday and see how you did and grab some super groovy tracks.

I feel I should have a grasp on some of the others, but I can’t quite place them, so that’s all I got.
