Sorry to any hints fans out there, but since this week marks our 300th custom, which is a pretty huge milestone, by the way, we’re doing something a bit different. The songs this week are all going to be super fringe songs, like, really unknown, as unknown as we can get them with the songs still being awesome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t expect to have heard of many of the songs we’re doing this week, so if you’re the kind of person who only downloads stuff you know/have heard of, which is understandable, you might not have a ton of fun with these, or you might just ignore them entirely. If that’s the case, so be it, but for such a huge milestone, don’t blame us for doing something different.

P.S. – It’s just for this week, we’ll go back to the normal shenanigans immediately after

… because they’re all alt-rock songs from Canadian bands in the ’90s, right?

I’m pretty sure that WhigParty would still guess at least half of the hints correctly.

With your track record from past releases I’m sure we’re in good hands

        #459154

Just be sure to throw Dommin – My Heart, Your Hands in there and I will be super cool!

I would do anything for just 1 hint…I’m severely interested

        *Anything?*

Seriously, though, neither of us like keeping people in the dark about stuff we’re doing.

This in no way opens this up to guesses, so please no guesses or anything like that, I don’t mean for these to be hints that you can guess what song it is.

The songs are, with a brief description each:

A symphonic metal song with all Latin language lyrics

An early 2000s nu metal hit

A late 80s glam metal cover

An underground Russian punk rock song

A folk-ish song from a survival horror game series

A doom metal song from a band started in the 70s

I should really say it again, when these are released, if you’ve heard of any of these songs, it must be a weird coincidence or something, and we really are being secretive just for the sake of being secretive, so it might not be a great idea to expect anything familiar.

Also, we’re doing our best adding our stuff to the database, and I wanted to be consistent at it, but the monkey wrench that is Fallout 4 might make it take a while, so my apologies to the admin crew that we’ve been so late jumping on the database.

Just make sure any NEW songs are put in the database. Catch up at your leisure.

Exactly, if you guys start by adding the new songs you won’t fall behind too much.

              Hey there Rockers,

Happy Saturday! This week is a bit of a milestone for us in this thread, we have surpassed 300 songs. If all our customs were counted with C3 stuff included we would have hit this earlier, but this is just in this thread alone. During the 10 months we have had this thread going, we have brought you a wide array of tracks from every decade since the 50’s. We have brought you many, many genres and styles of music. We have had everything from touching tributes to fun and laughs. I hope that if you are reading this, somehow we made at least one day brighter for you. We appreciate the kindness in comments, the many guesses at hints and the chance to bring you all some really cool stuff. It is in this spirit that we chose this week’s songs. The tracks this week range from lesser known to completely obscure. This is a present to some who will get to hear and play something new and fun. To some, they may be that cool song you always wanted, but never thought you would get. To some they may disappoint, due to them not being very well-known. If you are a fan of a lot of our song choices, we urge you to give these a spin.

Jumping Ropes Ft. Fuck It – Nazis Were Beating Johnny

Sy’s friend Max provided a transliteration of the lyrics, and helped translating the song title and artist names to English, as well.

So big thanks to him or this never could have worked out. You Rock Max

              Aeternitas – Graduale

For this song, we used GhostByob’s guitar and keys chart as a base, and modified both where we deemed necessary.

Thank you GhostByob! It also features pitched vocals!!! Enjoy!

Thank you to all of you that have downloaded and commented, we truly appreciate it. It makes all the hard work worth it.

Each week Sy and I each choose 3 of the 6 songs. This week I will tell you a bit about the three I chose:

Trouble – Psychotic Reaction is a great cover of a Count Five track. They toured with Skid Row and Pantera, during the tour they would bring out giant homemade “joint rack”. What a cool show it was. Enjoy this rocking track.

Lillian Axe – My Number is a cover of a song originally by NWoBHM band Girl. It is an awesome sleaze rock anthem. Hair metal good times. Break out the Aqua Net!

SOiL – Halo is a heavy, crunchy good song. It is energetic and cool. Rock it out!!!

We will be back to our old tricks Monday. Hints and all. Have a great weekend!!

Remember to Rock Out… Life is Short

Guys Congrats on your 300 song Milestone !

I hope we’re all around when you hit 500 songs……

You were correct probably not many of us have heard of the artist chosen this week.

Although I do know the Soil & Lillian Axe songs.

Thanks for another great week. :haw:

              #459297

I apologize for a week that most people might consider “skip-able”, but I really wanted to release some hidden gems that I felt were insanely underappreciated, and what better way to do it than a milestone like 300? Even if you’ve never heard of any of the songs, I think they’re all worth checking out. In particular, NWBJ is one of the catchiest songs I’ve ever heard, and definitely in my top 100, or 50 songs of all time. I’m also thankful that my friend Max was able to help out and provide the lyrical transliteration for it.

Either way, the Aeternitas song was one of my favorite songs released for a project I also contributed to on FoF, the Phase Shift Guitar Project 2, and I felt it would be great as a full band song, even though the drums are a bit relentless. The guitar and keys parts were originally done by GhostByob, and we tweaked them when we thought it was appropriate. Vocals were done by us, and only the main vocal part is pitched, which is appropriate for the way the backing vocals are sung.

Dirge for the Planet is from the soundtracks of both STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, and STALKER Clear Sky, along with two other Firelake songs. DftP is the least involved of the songs they did, but either way, it’s a really pretty song to listen, and I wouldn’t have done it otherwise if this wasn’t a special week.

We really hope you guys enjoy these, and we’re going back to normal next week, so if you didn’t like this week, hopefully better luck next week!
