All the stuff this week is super cool, I think.

 

We did pitched vocals on Suspiria, to make up for the fact that I can’t tell what’s being said in the whispering parts in the intro and outro, so you get the pitched “la”s and “witch”s. It doesn’t help that all the lyric sites say the lyrics are:

 

“la la la lalalalala la la la lalalalala
OOOOOOOAAWAWAHWAGAOHAASKAGAJGH…
WITCH”

 

For the most part, sure, that’s correct, but there’s more vocal stuff that’s buried in the mix. The drum part in the middle is really interesting, and while overall there isn’t a lot of instrument stuff, it’s still a cool song, and very chilling to listen to.

 

The Fastway songs are cool as well, the solos in Trick or Treat and After Midnight are really challenging, actually, even though the main riffs, bass, and drums lean on the easy side quite a bit. Stand Up is on the slower side, compared to the other two, and is much simpler to play on every instrument, and the solo isn’t too hard.

 

Seven Doors Hotel, holy shit, man, definitely one of my favorite songs that I’ve heard fairly recently. I liked this song so much, I started and completed it about two weeks ago, because I was so excited to play it. There’s solos out the ass in it, and the middle solo is super long, not to mention that all of them are insanely fast.

 

EDIT: Probably should’ve said something about the From Autumn to Ashes song, but even though we don’t do a lot of Post-Hardcore/Metalcore stuff, this is a pretty good song with some really good instrumental work.

 

We’ve still got two weeks left of Shocktober, and we’ve got plenty more tracks, and maybe a fitting surprise, as well.

Wow, I totally forgot about that Fastway album. I think I wore out this cassette listening to it on my Walkman while commuting to work by train ‘back in the day’. Thanks for keeping this thread going and not skipping a beat, you guys are awesome!

Hey there Rockers,

It is Monday and that means it is time for some hints for our next release. Week 4 of Shocktober is coming this Saturday!

Here they are:

Hint for song #1 – To start off our next installment of Shocktober, we have a band that Funhouse customs has featured before. They return for this theme appropriate track with a true metal god on backing vocals.

Hint for song #2- Next up this week is a modern shock rocker. The song was featured on an EP and a soundtrack to a film by one my favorite directors. The song is actually a cover of a 50’s classic.

Hint for song #3 – This new to Rock Band artist, comes knocking at your door with a little Halloween song released last year as a digital single. The artist has been in a few different bands, this one is named after him.

Hint for song #4 – This song was written for a Stephen King movie soundtrack. This band’s name was taken from a Beatle’s alias.

Hint for song #5 – This punk band is bringing us a track from an unexpected place, an album mostly comprised of show tune covers. Now, that is scary in and of itself.

Hint for song #6 – Our final track this week is from a New Zealand heavy metal band with a power metal meets black metal sound. The band features two guitarists’ whose guitar playing is legendary in rhythm games.

Neither of us are Brazilian, but we’ve done a lot of songs from different countries all over the world. For Mamonas, I thought that their whole story was really tragic and sad, and that album is amazing and one of the most original and awesome things I’ve ever heard.

Hi I am having issues with the downloaded songs not showing up on my RB3 playable list. Are the links still good or could there be another issue? I have update 4 and the songs off the customs page play fine and they come from the same download site. Any help would be great as we really want to play the songs you have done.

Perhaps try deleting the cache from your HD and letting RB3 rebuild it (after you’ve inserted your USB stick, of course).
