Great job doing these guys! Housequake and myself are very excited to have this very memorable performance in tribute to George Harrison for the game. I mean…wow!….an absolute ‘Dream Team’ of legends.

And as usual, you guys always manage to pull those wonderful ‘lost classic’/’holy crap!’ (I hadn’t heard this cool tune in ages) songs from out of your proverbial magicial top hats! Outstanding!!! Thank you for these great birthday tunes and we hope yours went real well! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

    More 70’s classics coming?!!…..I can dig it!!!! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> ……What’s goin on?……’be awesome to Gramps Day’ or something? <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” /> <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

These are 3 great tunes you guys,

Spiders & Snakes has been on my to do list since like forever but I am not Sy.

Who better for that solo than Prince, he makes it look so effortless.

Look forward to trying all these at my next jam session

This is just insane. Imagine watching this performance, wondering ‘why is Prince just standing there on the side… they’re wasting him’ and than he goes and does THIS. Look at Dhani’s Harrison smile towards Prince at 3:22 – he knows what’s coming…

          This community is amazing.

          Hey there Rockers,
How about some hints for this week’s upcoming release? We have 3 great 70’s tracks this week. I would like to thank everyone for the Happy Birthdays. I had a nice birthday, then the rest of the week was total calamity. Here we are on Saturday already and I have got this week’s hints. Let’s get right to them!!

          Hint for Song #1
Our first song was originally released as a B-side, after enough requests to break the Billboard Top 40, It was released as an A-side single and went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also featured on TV’s What’s Happening!! It was written and the lead was sang by the band’s guitarist.

          Hint for Song #2
Our second track this week, is super recognizable but not well-known today. It was the theme to a TV show of the same name. It was sung by the show’s star. It was a Top 5 hit. The Song was in the charts longer than the show was on TV. The show was cancelled in just 8 episodes. The song was in the charts for 16 weeks. It was also in a Bill Murray film and years later in a film about Kiss, sort of.

          Hint for Song #3
Our last track this week, is a favorite of mine, soon to be one of yours. It was Top 10 Billboard hit. It was part of the artist’s second album. The next year, the artist scored a #1 hit with a follow up song about the same subject. But this week’s song, was his first American hit and it can be found right y’are on Tuesday.

Good luck everyone! We’ll see ya Tuesday!! Have a great weekend!!!

Nunchuck….just need a clarification that there wasn’t a typo in that third clue….

The song you are releasing is from the artist’s Second album?

          #495295

Ah hell with it….the wife’s fingers are typing at a furious pace on her searches and I think she’s closing in, so I’m just gonna go with my gut on this…

#3 Donny Osmond’s “Sweet & Innocent” or “Go Away Little Girl”

          #495296

#3 James Taylor – Fire and Rain

          #495297

Nunchuck….just need a clarification that there wasn’t a typo in that third clue….

The song you are releasing is from the artist’s Second album?

Yes, That is correct. The song we did was on the second album from this artist. It was his first American hit. The biggest hint was in the last sentence.

          Hey there Rockers,

Tuesday has finally returned to the Funhouse. We jumped into the way-back machine and brought back 3 incredible songs from the 1970s.

These aren’t just for old-timers, they are great moments in music history!!

All three are great songs. Don’t snooze on these gems!!!

We had a couple of “Big Brains” last week! Great job on all the guesses!!

          Ezequiel1996 (1)

          Funk Meister Freud (1)

I got you on that last one. The word “y’are” was the key, as in the song’s lyrics. “An’ long tall glasses, with wine up to y’are”

Thank you all for playing along. Hints will be back soon, get those thinkers all charged up.

          Release Notes

Black Water – This classic track is well-known and it’s sound is well-loved. It was a #1 Billboard hit in 1975. This song will get stuck in your head for days to come. Enjoy this masterpiece that gives the feel of riding the mighty Mississippi River like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.

Makin’ It – David Naughton is best known for his role in the film American Werewolf in London, as well as for a long-running “Be a Pepper” ad campaign for beverage maker Dr Pepper. He was also the star of the short lived TV series Makin’ It, which this song was the theme for. The song was a top 5 hit and is one of the most memorable disco songs of the era. It will a fun to play.

Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance) – Leo Sayer had a string of dance hits. My favorite was always this song. It was his first big single in America. This lively fun track will always make me smile. The guitar sound is awesome and the lyrics tickle me to no end. 1970s at their best!!

Thank you everybody. We will return soon with more fun and antics!! Have a great week!!!

            You guys are fantastic!…..why?…….Doobie Brothers!!!!!! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Good job on the last clue….both of us were totally stumped as to what the song really was.

I’m glad it turned out to be Leo instead of Donny,(nothing against bubblegum Donny, but……) <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> LOL!

Funny thing is, I first heard this song on a musical variety show on Italian television while living there. I loved how it grooved and totally understanding all the lyrics (in English) was a plus because I was still learning to comprehend Italian. Never knew where it placed on the charts in the States since I lived in Aviano for a couple of years.

Mucho thanks for doing “I Love the 70’s” from someone creaky enough to say “I Lived the 70’s”! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Thanks for Black Water! That was an instant download. As in, I didn’t even finish reading the post before I went and got it. I’m glad this one finally made it to RB!
