You guys are amazing. Two full (VOLUNTARY) years of two guys releasing half a dozen or more new songs every single week is just mind-blowing. Three months after the official C3 releases stopped, you guys picked up the baton and never put it down, making every Saturday a day of anticipation and excitement. This community is very fortunate to include you two incredibly dedicated and talented members. Thank you both for all you do and for all the hours of Rock Band pleasure you’ve brought to so many.
Hey there Rockers,
We hope you had a great weekend! It is Monday and we are back with clues to this week’s upcoming release. This Saturday, we will celebrate my birthday. I picked six songs that are all among my favorites. Every track is from a well-known artist or band. They may not be singles, however. But every artist you will recognize, I’d think. I am quite excited! I dig every track, hopefully you will too.Here we go!!
Hint for Song #1
To start this shindig off right, we are going start long, long ago. When I was young, my father had a select few albums he would play around the house. They are all awesome to me now, looking back. This first selection was a song from one of those albums. The artist is new to RB. This Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has had 38 Billboard Hot 100 hits. including 21 top 40, 10 top ten and one no. 1. If you peeps dig this artist, I would love to do more. Of the many choices, I opted for a song that was originally written by Buddy Holly. This artist made her rendition count, scoring a top 5 hit. The song was the second single (well, actually there were two singles charting at the same time) off this artist’s eighth studio album.Hint for Song #2
Next, we have a song that became one of my favorites last fall. It is a proud celebration song. The song was actually first performed in 2007 and recorded in 2008. The song came true in 2016. The artist has been to the Funhouse before with the band he fronts. I’m super-excited to see this song in RB. It will go quite nicely with a song we released not too long ago.Hint for Song #3
For my next pick, I went with another inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has 20 Grammys, two Golden Globes and and Oscar. He is also in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. This artist returns to the Funhouse with a blue collar anthem. If you have seen Adam Sandler’s live concert tour, he did a cool cover of this song. It was covered by a character in a popular 80’s soap opera.Hint for Song #4
In the clean-up spot this week, we have an outstanding album track from one of the great albums of the 90’s. That album was this band’s third and final studio album. The song shares its name, in part, with a film star of the 30’s and 40’s that was reportedly in a mental institution, received shock treatments and a lobotomy. The song’s title also contains the singer’s daughter’s name.Hint for Song #5
If I am picking 6 songs, odds are that i would definitely pick a track from our next artist. He is one of my favorite songwriters ever. We have released several songs from this artist. He also did have one official on-disc song. This song comes from the artist’s second album. The album is self-titled. The song speaks of music easing the hassle of everyday life. It has nothing to do with any religious figure, unless you worship pirate DJs, that is.Hint for Song #6
For my final choice, I picked an epic ending track. The song is the final track on this band’s fifth studio album. The album was the first without their longtime guitarist. This band is one of my all-time favorites and they have been to the Funhouse several times. This is my most wanted track by this band ever, so it is awesome to see it come to life.Good luck!
