Release Notes

This week has got six awesome songs. This time of year it gets harder to do these releases due to being “holiday busy” and work and all the other things that slow us down. This week was tough but it turned out very well. Enjoy these songs, they are truly some of the best we have done. Here is the low-down on the tracks.

 

Dave Matthews – Gravedigger is one of the most somber-yet-beautiful songs in my library, and trust me, it is a huge music library. This song is one I have been dreaming of for a long time. This week it is available to all the peeps. If you have not heard it, please give it a listen, it really is something special.

 

Patti Smith – Because the Night is one of the 1970’s greatest songs, which began as a work in progress by Bruce Springsteen. At the time, he was at odds with a record company and was not recording. He had the basic song written with chorus but no verses. Jimmy Iovine passed the song to Patti Smith, who, in one day, finished the lyrics, giving us this great rocking love song.

We dedicate this song to Farottone! Without the “Godfather of Customs”, I’m certain we wouldn’t be making this post today. You are a huge inspiration to so many of us. Thank you, my friend, thank you!!

 

Wyclef Jean is one of my favorite artists. I would love to have a dozen Wyclef songs. Today, we have one. Gone till November is probably the most well-known and is a truly great song. Enjoy this great song and if it does well, we may see a little more Wyclef in the future.

 

The Rolling Stones are one the the biggest bands to ever grace the planet. We are proud to bring you one of their great hits. Miss You riled up the fans a bit when it was new, due to its disco-esque sound. It was a great song and it has stood the test of time. It wasn’t just a disco song, it was a Rolling Stones take on a dance song.

 

Tom Petty is well-loved here at the Funhouse. That is because he is so damned good. You Wreck Me comes from the album Wildflowers, as did You Don’t Know How It Feels, which the Funhouse released a while back. More Tom Petty is always a good thing. The more Tom Petty the better.

 

Deep Purple – You Fool No One is the song that’s clue stumped everyone. It is from the album Burn, which featured a new singer in David Coverdale and Bass player/Vocalist Glenn Hughes. It was the first song on side two of the Burn LP. This one is super challenging. The drums and keys are especially tough, good luck!
