Cheers. Any idea where I know it from? As strange as that sounds….
Edit. I’ve just had a look, not so familiar anymore! Thanks for clearing up my pain anyway
I forgot to mention it was on Paranormal Lockdown. I don’t watch the show, but I remember running into that fact.
October 1, 2016 at 7:34 pm #475668Awesome job guys.
October 1, 2016 at 9:18 pm #475675Way to go guys. Nice job. Thank you.
October 1, 2016 at 10:34 pm #475680I was waiting to get my comments out pretty much all day. This is what a release is like when I get into the Shocktober fever. I always remember Shocktober last year as the most fun I’ve ever had charting, and that month yielded some of my most-wanted songs.
This week’s release contains what I think is some of the hardest and catchiest material that we’ve released yet. Haunted and Face Omelet are easily two of the hardest guitar songs ever charted, and in my opinion Bud the Chud and Minds on the Moon are two of the catchiest tracks I’ve ever heard.
Straw Dogs – Carnival in Hell is a pretty good song by a band that was previously (and now) known as The F.U.’s, who used to play more punk, but crossed over into metal territory. The song is pretty challenging and has three guitar solos, and as a recurring theme with this release, it’s one of the songs that didn’t have lyrics available, so i had to do my best to guess. The other three like this were Haunted, April Fools Day, and Bud the Chud, which Haunted is the most obvious, since what I put for the lyrics is borderline nonsense.
Mystery’s Apotheosis is a repetitive, simple, but surprisingly epic sounding song with tons of synth layers to it. It’s from the movie City of the Living Dead, by Lucio Fulci, one of my favorite horror directors. It has the synth vocals in the main parts charted to real vocals, and they’re pretty simple.
Minds on the Moon, like I said before, is insanely catchy, as far as thrash goes. Tankard is one of the Big Teutonic Four of Thrash, and they’re surprisingly under-represented in Rock Band, especially considering how great Minds on the Moon is. Guitar is by m1999, who did the guitar on it as a guest chart for my FoF.net project Sygenysis Hero 2, and he did a great job!
Also mentioned previously is Bud the C.H.U.D. from the not-so-great, campy sequel to C.H.U.D., which shares no similarities from the previous movie. Neither of them are cinematic excellence, but I think C.H.U.D. II was way more entertaining, and the theme song kicks serious ass. It’s super catchy, and I had completely forgotten about it until I saw it in my W.I.P. folder. If I had known about it, I’d have charted this bonus first.
April Fools Day is the rockin’ theme to Slaughter High, (noticing a theme with the obscure, generally campy horror movies?) which I wish was a full length song. Also, you might be saying “wrong holiday”, but this is as Shocktober as it gets.
Venom – Black Metal is famous for being one of the first thrash metal songs ever, and while I’d still personally consider it proto-thrash, it’s still a great song. It’s not insanely difficult, but still pretty fast, I marked the bridge-ish section as a guitar solo, since it’s the closest thing to one in the song. It’s also the part right before he says “Let’s go!”, which might be a bit weird, but I think it turned out well.
Dr. Mastermind – Haunted is another track from one of my favorite bands. This one was released on a metal compilation, and isn’t available on any of their albums, (all two of them, or four of them, however many) to my knowledge, but still features some insane guitar work. The intro and outro solos bump up the difficulty to crazy levels, and it’s one of the hardest guitar songs ever charted, as previously stated.
The Dickies – Killer Klowns is a fantastic song with some killer instrumental and vocal work. It’s not super challenging, but is generally on the upper spectrum of things. Very fun on every instrument, and pretty damn catchy, too.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this week includes our 600th full band custom, as well as my 800th custom overall! Super happy to hit both those milestones in the same week!

October 3, 2016 at 8:20 pm #475740Hey there Rockers,
Did you all have a great weekend? It is Monday and that means it is time for more clues to our upcoming release. You peeps did quite well last week, let’s see if you can top that this week. Once again this week, we will have picture hints. You have an advantage now, less bands on the list, so figuring them out should get easier every week…or should it?
Here are this week’s picture hints…
There they are, flex those brain muscles and impress us with your intellect.
Last week we had 3 “Big Brains” and between them they got 4 correct answers. Excellent sleuthing.

I figured ‘The Apocalypt’ because I felt the Biblical Apocalypse, (i.e. the end of the world) is still within the boundaries of ‘scary theme’ and this pic looks like a scene out of the movie “Apocalypse Now”, so that’s why I went with my guess,…. but yeah dude, I get this feeling your answer is correct. October 4, 2016 at 1:39 am #475752Now you’ve explained it, yours makes more sense!
Edit: Thanks for all those releases, Sygenysis & Nunchuk, amazing stuff.

I dunno, in the movie, they WERE on a nightmare patrol lol
Besides, I’d think ‘Nightmare Patrol’ would be the more popular song anyway.
Either way……It’s gonna be !
