I want to second that, I played the Stones songs over the weekend and they were a ton of fun, great job.
June 1, 2016 at 3:49 pm #469662Some trivia that y’all probably already know, but I have a personal spin to give…
There is a town in Arizona named Carefree. Arizona state highway 74 gets you there. They call it the Carefree Highway. In 2010 while touring the southwestern U.S. in a rental car, I got to drive the Carefree Highway, and also got to see the sign where it crosses Interstate 17. I knew Gordon Lightfoot’s song, so of course it was thoroughly stuck in my head during those drives, but it wasn’t until later that I learned the song was inspired by a road sign he saw while driving a rental car in Arizona. I’m sure it wasn’t the same sign I snapped a picture of, but I still wonder if maybe it was at least that same location. I’ve liked the song a little more ever since.
Thanks again for charting this one, and for the upgrade!

Hm…that’s only about half a day’s drive for me. Might have to go drive on it at some point.

I’m pretty sure the GnR song you mean is their cover of “Since I Don’t Have You”, the song you mentioned is a Zeppelin song (which is sort of a suped-up cover too). I’d be thrilled with either of them though, or any more songs from either of those bands for that matter. Then again, this thread is chock full of thrills and excitement every week. The KISS songs from Rockfight 1 were particularly epic for me personally (along with so many more). No words can ever thank these guys enough for what they do. If karma truly exists, Nunchuck, Sy, Colonel and every one of these authors certainly should have boat loads of “good vibes” coming back their way.

In which case I would not advise working on it.

Nice!
June 4, 2016 at 9:28 pm #469861Hey there Rockers,
We are gathered here today to celebrate the life and music of one of the greatest musical artists the world will ever know.
As a twelve year old boy, I heard Prince for the first time. It was the beginning of a life-long love and appreciation for the art, charisma and great songs of Prince. I happily nabbed up Prince’s newest release in 2015 with the zest and vigor of which the twelve year old me stood in the record store buying the 45’s for Little Red Corvette and 1999. As I got older, I bought most of the Prince albums. I got 1999 album and it was super awesome. I found out there were earlier works. So I got Controversy and Dirty Mind, both awesome. I was becoming a real fan. In the summer of my 13th year, Purple Rain came out. I saw it in the theater on my first actual date. I got the soundtrack and drove everyone I knew crazy listening to it endlessly. To this day I have or have had Purple Rain on on cassette, vinyl (including the singles from it on 45), CD, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, Beta (found at a garage sale or something) and most recently, completing the collection, Laser Disc (Thanks my friend ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> ). When I worked at the record store, I got the Prince Hits/ B Sides box early as a perk and loved every song on it. I then promptly filled in the collection of albums leading to that. Great stuff, too much to even name all of it. As time marched on, so did Prince’s streak of great, innovative music.
We have done two Prince songs already. We did 2014’s Screwdriver. It was a super-catchy song that featured Prince’s female back-up band 3rdeyegirl. We did the mega-hit Raspberry Beret quite a while back and it is been upgraded not too long ago to include pitched vocals and harmonies by RyanHYK.
This week will be part one of the Funhouse’s Prince Tribute. This is truly something that is very important to me. Everyone that had a part in this worked very hard to bring this tribute to you. Sy rocked out all the expert instrument charts (except pro keys) on every track. He worked himself very hard to get all this done in the best possible quality. This dude works so hard on this stuff every week, and this week was one of those above-and-beyond kind of weeks. He made something really important to me turn out beautifully.
We also had a few guests on vocals, as we will for part 2. The Colonel and Dash were so gracious as to help out without having a lot of time to work on things. As far as I’m concerned, these guys are two of the coolest cats you will ever have the pleasure of working with. They have been awesome with upgrades and helping out in the past (and hopefully the future). This week pitched vocals are on these guys and they rocked them!!! Big thank you guys!!!
I would like to dedicate this release to the lifetime of memories Prince has given us. This was created respectfully to help us, the super fans of Rock Band get the chance to live out the dream-like beauty Prince brought us throughout the years. These aren’t just more songs to me. This is something very special. Please enjoy all these tracks and celebrate with us at the Funhouse.
I have gone on and on long enough.

Prince’s birthday would have been June 7, so please join us celebrate his life and music.
Please treat this release with the respect it deserves. Our condolences to every one touched by Prince and his art.
Did you ever have a moment that made Prince stand-out to you? Did you get to see Prince live? Did you know Prince would stop at playgrounds and play basketball with the guys while in his heels? Have you ever been to First Avenue?
If you have a Prince story or anecdote about Prince and his effect on your life, please share with us here this week.
