1 is definitely “Rain on the Scarecrow” by John Mellencamp, but samjjones beat me to it!

I’d say #3 is “Love Bites” by Def Leppard (spelling and was the only #1 single in the US) but I don’t see where the lizard would fit in.

    No idea for the rest.

Looking forward to the battle! I know who I’m voting for. :smug:

    I’m going to guess …

    #6 – Machine Head – Old

That would be great. Davidian would be good, too. Curious to hear the Slayer story…

Bonus hint… Quiet Riot really liked them!

Thanks a lot guys, just wondering if you will also tackle jazz tunes.

There is a good chance we may come up with a jazz tune. We did Tom Waits a while back. It turned out great, so we’ll see.

Curious to hear the Slayer story…

When Saturday comes around, I will tell the tale from back in the day, when I worked at a record store and was trapped in a basement with Slayer and Biohazard during a meet & greet.

The first Rockfight info coming soon… Including Intro to Rockfights and Tale of the Tape.

Are You Ready for a Rockfight???

Wait, so it’s not Def Leppard? Oh man. Bummer. I was getting excited. Oh well. I guess.

Well then it’s most certainly Slade since they don’t spell any of their songs correctly.

Still not sure about the basking lizard, but as far as I know their best-selling US single is “Run Runaway” unless we’re talking about non-album singles in which case is “Tak Me Bak ‘Ome”.
