Hey there rockers,

Thank you for all the kindness. Sygenysis and I have been cooking this up for months. It took a lot of time and effort, but in the end it was so worth it. We wanted to bring you an improved thread to better suit everyone’s needs and wants. We added some stuff like 2X Bass for the drummers as well as improving the drum tracks. We added upgrades to add 5 lane keys (or other instruments on keys track) for added enjoyment. We fix up charts to have better use of overdrive/unison phrases/drum fills, add at least simple practice sections and made several chart fixes to improve gameplay. We are going to upgrade un-pitched vocals for select tracks to pitched vocals with harmonies. We will do this to super popular downloads and songs with vocals we think need to be upgraded. Maybe someday they will all get the upgrade, but for now baby steps. We are new to pitched vocals, it takes practice and Rome wasn’t built overnight. We do want to bring you the best most complete customs we are able to.

That reminds me, if there is anyone out there that does PS3 or WII conversions we would love to include them too. We don’t have a way to test. So we are looking for someone who would like to help out those on PS3 and WII by converting and testing these for those other systems.

Also in other news, by tomorrow the hints for next Saturdays release will be up.

Keep an eye out if you are into trivia type good times. Hopefully that is another feature people will dig. I used to love the official Harmonix hint threads. I will work hard on them to try to make them at least that fun.

One thing I had to do was rename the song folders to lower case so they’d load properly.

Other than that, so far, they are great!

Hey there rockers. This week’s release is very special to me. It is my birthday this week and this release contains my birthday gifts from Sygenysis. That dude rocks!!!!!

Anyway, six of this release’s tracks are songs picked just for me. They are songs that have touched me in one of three ways: songs I’ve loved my whole life (And I mean since infancy, really); songs and artists I just feel speak to me; or artists I have just seen live in the last few years that really impressed me. The remaining tracks are damn fine as well. In fact, one of my favorite songs of 1989 is in there. Several returning and new to RB acts in here as well.

I cooked up some hints for you guys and Sygenysis added to them. We hope you dig them.

This track is from the debut album of a Canadian Metal band named after Eddie Murphy’s movie tank. This track concerns a girl afflicted with Bogyphobia.

This track, not to be confused with the offshoot band of the same name, was released 25 years into this punk band’s career. The album it represents was the band’s first, and last material from the switch from Epitaph Records to Fat Wreck Chords.

Hint for song #5

This Canadian rock act appeared in RBN. They return with a track from their self titled album. They changed their name from a colorful primate name to what everyone assumed was a reference to a penis.

Hint for song #6

This Kansas metal band recorded this “spooky” cover on their last album before breaking up, only to reform later. Once because their record company forced them and once even later with only one original member.

Hint for song #7

This track was the B-side to a song we already have had for 7 years. This band has many tracks in the RB library already including a C3 release last spring, so why not another?

Hint for song #8

This song, written by a poet and children’s author, helped this band achieve the song’s goal in only a few months. This track was also featured in the film Almost Famous. It went all the way to #6 on the singles chart in the US.

Hint for song #9

This funky 70’s soul song came from one of the most acclaimed movies and soundtracks of all time. The soundtrack album was so good it made more money than the movie. It was a #1 album in the US.

Hint for song #10

Next, we have another song from one of my favorite songwriters. It is a second RB track from the same platinum album. This song has been covered by the Wallflowers, Hank Williams Jr. and Rick Derringer. It was a favorite of David Letterman.

Hint for song #11

The meaning of the lyrics for this song are unclear. It could be a man missing his best friend or hard drug use or something else entirely. It is from one of my favorite albums of the 90’s. This band was once known as Vodka Family Winstons.

Hint for song #12

RockBand’s first punk rock gutterbilly or hobocore or gypsy punk song. The band has been described as all of those genres. The song title and the band name are both profanity filled. A combination of punk, country, bluegrass and rockabilly, I saw them live and was hooked. An accordion, electric washboard, guitar, stand up bass, banjo and angry punk vocals make this an act worth catching if they come to your town.

Hint for song #13

This track is a miserable and primitive old-time gothic country song which is odd because it was recorded in 2008. The vocalist/guitarist is a certified holiness preacher. This Wisconsin band opened for Hank Williams III on tour. This is a haunting take on country music.
