January 24, 2018 at 9:55 pm #494697Thanks for all of your work, Mr. Prez! I’m playing through The Fractured But Whole, and now there’s even more content from Matt and Trey to enjoy, on here! Also, definitely spent the two bucks. Thanks for bringing TCB to us in the meantime! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
January 26, 2018 at 2:25 am #494729Updated: Vocal chart, tuning, drum chart fixes.
So another week of looking back on my early charts. Something about this one always bugged me about this chart, how it was so difficult to get a gold star and part of it seemed off-pitch, yet in reaper it sounded ok. TUNING CENTS. When I made this originally, I didn’t know how to work with them. I think I get it now. So I was able to use this to make a chart that should be spot on with the pitches now. WHYYYYYYYY can’t he just sing on key? Well whatever, its fixed. I also have to do the same fix to Ween’s “Transdermal Celebration” (I guess, coming soon!).
Magma cleaner complained about the drums being the wrong ‘size’ and sure enough, the swing beat hi-hats were smaller than 1/32 for some reason. So that’s fixed. Probably won’t make a difference, but magma’s happy now. Hooray.
Enjoy the update.

CLICK VISUALIZER FOR FULL CHART PREVIEWSweet, soulful southern rock-and-roll is probably not the first thing you think of when you think of Canada’s midwestern prairies, but that’s exactly what The Sheepdogs do. Saskatoon’s new favourite sons have made a living by channelling the likes of Lynerd Skynerd, Allman Brothers and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Their latest album, released on February 3rd, 2018, goes even further and evolves the Sheepdogs sound into a smorgasbord of 70’s visuality. “I’ve Got a Hole…” kicks off the disc with their typical toe-tapping, jean jacket and sideburns form.
The new album came out a few days ago and I am excited to bring you the first single from it. There are a couple more really great ones on there that I’m gonna work on later in the year. For right now I will get back to the Tom Petty pack which will be coming up next.
Cheers!

MrPrezident: https://db.c3universe.com/songs/all/__user/MrPrezidentFebruary 7, 2018 at 4:42 pm #495175Keeping with the Canadian content, any chance we could get some more? Maybe the Arkells, Tokyo Police Club, or Modern Space? Also been dying for Brian Wilson by BNL
February 7, 2018 at 4:51 pm #495176Huge thanks for the new Sheepdogs! Fantastic jam. I saw them in concert a few years back on Canada Day as the headliner. It was a great lineup of bands that day – Sheepdogs, Monster Truck, Matt Mays, Head of the Heard, and The Zolas. Awesome concert.
February 7, 2018 at 5:06 pm #495177HOT DAMN!!!!, MrPrez!!
I swear to god, I didn’t even go but a few bars into that song on Youtube and that southern fried guitar riff smacked my ass clear into next friggin’ week! NO SHIT!!! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Savory selection that will definitely hold down the fort until Petty arrives!
Geezus….wait ’til Housequake hears THIS!
THANKS FOR THE INSTADOWNLOAD!!!!!! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> (and sold without even hearing all of it! lol!)
February 8, 2018 at 4:24 pm #495200Hey thanks guys! I’m glad you like it Funk ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Keeping with the Canadian content, any chance we could get some more? Maybe the Arkells, Tokyo Police Club, or Modern Space? Also been dying for Brian Wilson by BNL
I would love to do more BNL and “Brian Wilson” is one of my top three choices to do next, the others are “Alcohol” and “It’s All Been Done”
Speaking of the Arkells, I am sure that ATrueJedi is doing one of their tunes (I’m currently tempo mapping it LOL) but its not my place to spoil which one it is. I will seek out some Tokyo Police Club and Modern Space. Anything in particular of theirs ?
I love when people request bands & songs that they think I would enjoy doing, if there’s something you hear and think “Hey maybe MrPrez would like this” feel free to drop by and mention it here.
The Tom Petty Full Moon Fever pack is about 2/3 done, all the major instruments are charted (except one guitar chart) and there’s only two vocal charts left to wrap up. If everything goes well I can maybe put this out next week.
Cheers

Prez summed it up well. It’s like these guys have a time-and-space displacement machine and transported themselves from 1970s Alabama to 2000s Canada… I’m still baffled at how they sound how they sound (Levon Helm’s southern influence on The Band comes to mind, even if unrelated).
All Sheepdogs albums are wonderful. Start with their 2007 debut, Trying to Grow, and just keep going from there. I’m still irritated I haven’t had the chance to see these guys live… you xenophobic Canadians rarely leave your frozen paradise to venture to the U.S. for tours. Fortunately, I’ve managed to see The Trews*, The Arkells, Sam Roberts Band, and July Talk (twice). Sheepdogs, Hollerado, Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays, and Mother Mother (!!!) continue to elude me…
*I tried to buy merch from the Trews. They didn’t bring any on tour! They told me it’s pretty difficult to even bring stuff into the U.S. to sell during tours. Sucks for me, because I’m a t-shirt whore.
Speaking of the Arkells, I am sure that ATrueJedi is doing one of their tunes (I’m currently tempo mapping it LOL) but its not my place to spoil which one it is.
I’m glad you didn’t spoil the surprise. That would have been very cynical of you.

February 9, 2018 at 5:22 pm #495227“Moondance” is a part of AJ’s AMOUR MONTH. The vocal chart on this was particularly fun to work on, full of slides (which I love) and things get completely mixed up in the third verse just to throw you off. Be sure to check it out.

“Heavy Petting Zoo” may not have been NOFX’s most consistent album in the 90’s but it did have a few memorable classics. “Hot Dog..” is Fat Mike’s love letter to ‘Seattle Fat Chicks’ and features their classic punk rock riffs with grunge influences. This song is something of a time capsule of politically incorrect nostalgia, but remains one of the band’s funniest songs.
I have two more NOFX songs in queue, but I’d do a lot more if someone offered to take over the drums.
Enjoy…
