Beatles will easily top this chart soon-ish. Also, Rush is way at the top of the chart, the only reason why the songs are not in the DB is because they are not at a standard I’m comfortable with, but I think a lot of the songs in the DB are at that level anyway. Finally, I hate to bring this up but unpitched vocals don’t make a song full band.
I didn’t realize that pitched/unpitched was a filter I could include. I updated the top numbers and the only ones to take hits were Metallica (5) and AC/DC (64)
I count 73 official The Beatles songs (not including the long Abbey road medley), so that would put them at 98.
I’m gonna trust you and add to their total ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

October 1, 2016 at 8:56 pm #475672I can see the debate regarding unpitched vocals not being considered full band but when you think about it, the unpitched chart still allows a vocalist to interact with the song just in a karaoke fashion. I’m more leaning towards unpitched should be considered full band just not fully full.

we should have a vote but the mods get super delegate powers ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Yeah but that’s not how Rock Band was intended to be played. If it were Rock Band: Karaoke I’d be inclined to agree.
October 1, 2016 at 10:25 pm #475679I’m not encouraging authors to chart unpitched vocals it’s just that you can still have a “band” setting experience and the vocalist still can activate overdrive with the band and get a solo point score. I know singing unpitched is nowhere as fun or challenging as pitched but there still is an interaction.
October 1, 2016 at 11:34 pm #475682You could also copy notes over from the BEAT track to guitar, bass, keys and pro keys and give the players something to do: pressing button to the rhythm of the song. Is there an interaction? Yes. Is it something that lets people play the part? No. So that song is missing that part.
I’m gonna reiterate one thing: Funky’s songs are probably more proper than those from more than a few full band albums, which means that his album don’t count but those that have parts authored to inferior standards make the cut. Anything outside C3 and official DLC suffers from that issue: it can be very good, it can be subpar. However, if the argument is “doesn’t matter the exact quality, it matters all legacy instruments are there”, unpitched vocals can’t count, IMO. Since this is an unofficial list though, my opinion counts as 0. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I agree there needs to be a standard to strive for. So I’ll stick with pitched vocals as required.

October 3, 2016 at 4:22 am #475731I don’t chart pitches. I know how to chart words. My songs have the best words.

I’d also like to point out that the lyrics in your songs are almost always spelled correctly, too! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
I would much rather be able to sing karaoke Bon Scott than not be able to sing Bon Scott at all, for one. So I thank you.
October 3, 2016 at 6:10 pm #475735The same can be said for Johnson. In fact, it feels much better to sing Johnson unpitched than with pitches as the game penalizes you for actually singing the song with balls. The same can be said for Pantera, Metallica, etc. I can 100% gold star any song on vocals that I want, but in a party environment on a hard rocking song, it is much more fun to ignore the score. 45% on expert playing Thunderstruck when I am singing is much more impressive than a 100%. I have witnesses ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
October 3, 2016 at 6:35 pm #475736I added funky’s unpitched songs to the AC/DC total but will a note about how many are unpitched.

That’s always been my thought too. I’m not worried whether 66 of my songs make that list or not, but it’s not like I left Freddie Mercury unpitched here. What percentage of people out there want to fire up rock band to sing Hard as a Rock pitch for pitch with Brian Johnson?
