All of the customs I’ve charted are an absolute mess. I’ve been on this site for a couple years and I’ve just become 18 somewhat recently (compared to the time I’ve added this statement), and I don’t know if I want to do anything about any of my old projects. If anyone wants to take these apart, fix them up, be my guest. Or if you’re just simply interested in any of the songs, check them out for yourself. If you’re interested in fixing them but need my REAPER files, message me, and I’ll gladly send whatever you need.

My most finished customs are in the database.
April 24, 2015 at 10:58 pm #443628Thanks for the Brand New!
April 24, 2015 at 11:28 pm #443629Of course, brandnewfan. Awesome name. I’m gonna do more of their songs from Deja Entendu, most likely “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” next. Sorry about how it sounds though, I did the best I could. Like I said, I’m very new to this.

I took a look at those two songs in REAPER. A couple pieces of advice from someone who recently learned authoring myself:
1. The tempo map looks pretty close for these songs, but you might find it off in-game. The tempo markers you have are a little sparse which makes the mapping coarser, i.e. it could float in and out of sync by small amounts. This can be an issue more on some songs than others, but it’s a pain to have to go back and redo the tempo map after charting instruments. I recommend
if you find that the mapping isn’t tight enough. Unfortunately it’s probably the hardest thing to get right and the first thing you have to do for each song.
2. My fingers hurt just looking at the Jug chart. I totally get what you’re going for there, but three-note chords tend to be awkward in high speed patterns and should be reserved for big power chords or rhythm lines.
3. “Wah” pedal effects work well as Force-HOPO chords.
Cheers and good luck! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 25, 2015 at 9:29 pm #443704Thanks for the advice psiven, I really appreciate it. I may not fix the two songs that I already made due to my laziness, but I’ll definitely use your advice on future songs and get used to it as I go along. Thank you very much.

April 26, 2015 at 12:12 am #443712You’re welcome. It’s being worked on now by the way, should be done sometime soon. As long as school doesn’t get in the way, which in may. In other words, don’t expect it too soon.

May 1, 2015 at 10:50 pm #444329wow, a new Ramones tune! Thank you very much! But could you please (please please) do some CAT reductions for this one? My skills are still limited…I’m not sure what CAT reductions are, I’ll have to look into it. I’m still very amateur at this. But, there will be some more Ramones in the future. I’m a huge fan of them as well.
May 1, 2015 at 11:29 pm #444334Thanks for your quick reply! Well, CAT reductions are basically reductions for all the lower difficulties, i.e. easy, medium and hard. These are quite useful for players that don’t master an instrument on its expert level like me. I just asked beard216 in his thread if he would be willing to some CAT reductions for the Ramones tune because he just recently put out a bunch of great reductions of expert only songs from other people’s threads. Maybe he will help us. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Once installed it will open a menu when you hit F9 in REAPER and you can use it to generate reductions from the Expert charts. Depending on the complexity of the song it can do a pretty good job, but should be marked with the CAT Redux icon in Visualizer if you don’t double check and polish the result. It is always much appreciated for Expert Only authors to run CAT ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Also if you do any reductions yourself, Alt+C copies your selected notes down to the next difficulty.

Really, anything anyone can do with my songs is greatly appreciated. I’m still new and I don’t know how to do a bunch of different stuff, so, yeah. If I ever do lower difficulties, I will probably have to do them manually before I figure out what CAT is. I never really cared for lower difficulties because I enjoy playing expert, even know I’m not too great on it. I turn on No Fail Mode and just play for the feeling, rather than the points and scores and stars, I don’t really care much about all that. But that’s just me. Anyway, I’ll learn more as I go on. I hope you enjoy what I have created so far, and what may be created in the near future.

That’s another thing too, is I have all the stuff, I just can’t figure out how to install it. I’ll figure it out soon though, and I’ll definitely remember to do this. Thank you dude.
