No. What I want is the other way around (unless I’m reading the known issue wrong). It isn’t something I can set.
I don’t want to assign all parts to one band member. I want to assign just one part to more than one band member.
Oh, then that’s not possible. The format only allows you to assign singers to parts 2, 3, and 4. Not the other way around. A potential workaround for this is duplicating one of the lip sync parts to make it part 4, and then being able to use that.

I was afraid that that’s the way it would be structured. Oh well. Thanks for clearing that up.

January 7, 2018 at 11:07 pm #494070Hi Mr. Stacks, I was using the milomod 5 version, and I run into a problem… Everythin’s looking fine when the osng plays in Rock Band.. But the keyboardist stay there, not playing anything just walking to the sides like the music didn’t started. Did you please know what’s happening? I Did not tried this custom in the version 6 because it returns no error in the proccess, but the keyboardist don’t play. Otherm usicians play normally.
Edit: Actually, the animations are a little strange and the camera stuck on the same spot for several minutes like almost one minute. The keyboardist don’t play and the others play, but the position of the camera just changes 3 or 4 times during the song. It’s uncommon to have just 2 or 3 camera changes during one song.
April 2, 2019 at 5:40 am #504200The next major update to MiloMod is here! Introducing MiloMod v1.1! I can now say MiloMod is feature-complete and can be a reliable tool for enthusiast customs authors who want the most control in their venue.
Below are some notes about this version. But the biggest features are: Xbox CON file support and accurate event timings at long last!
- Fixed event timing issues (thanks PikminGuts92)
- Added CON file support and allows replacing of Milo and Midi file.
- The “Swap Post Proc” option can now be enabled by a checkbox in the program window
- Added option to remove the VENUE track from the MIDI
- Added option to replace the DTA’s game_origin value from ugc_plus to rb3_dlc
- Backup dialog now lists what files will get backed up
- Updated tooltip functionality
I will update the first post with new information soon. And as always, please report any issues here. I’ve got reports that the tool is working as expected on the Wii.
April 2, 2019 at 6:34 am #504201Awesome, thank you very much! Cannot wait to check it out.
April 20, 2019 at 12:59 pm #504553Mr. Stacks, sir, thank you so much for your efforts! Really great stuff. I’ve been using milomod for the past few days trying to get spotlights to work on dolphin. It seems I can get them to work when not using milomod but the camera just stays behind the crowd the whole time. When I use milomod on the same CON, the camera works as intended but no spotlights. Are you aware of any limitations with spotlights?

I’m very curious about this as well. I’ve been using MiloMod to play (and test) customs for, well, ever, and now that I’m an author, I’ve often wondered if spotlights are actually having an effect, or if it’s just the fact that the graphics on the Wii and Dolphin are crap. Hm!
April 30, 2019 at 4:24 am #504748Yes, you are correct about the spotlight events. It looks like there was a bug in my tool and it wasn’t storing spotlight events properly. I’m surprised the game didn’t crash from that. There may be an issue with bonusfx as well, so I’ll look into it and release an updated version soon.
May 20, 2019 at 12:08 pm #505284Sounds great! looking forward to the next version ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
May 21, 2019 at 5:41 am #505291I haven’t gotten any confirmation on this, but I need to make sure bonuxfx actually shows up properly. The effect isn’t rendered in the Wii version (lol) so I can’t confirm it works. The spotlight issue should be fixed now though.
Another potential issue I may have to look into is how post procs are actually blended. Official Milo venues often have two time values associated with a post proc, so I need to see how those work to try to include it in MiloMod. It could be that blending of post procs is broken right now.
June 10, 2019 at 5:07 pm #505547AnonymousHi, I can’t seem to make this thing work. Whenever I drag a .milo_wii file extracted from a Rock Band 2 disc to this program, it says that it’s not a valid .milo_wii file. What is a valid MILO file? Am I doing something wrong?
June 10, 2019 at 9:46 pm #505549AnonymousI sent a post to this thread; if it appears, it can be safely ignored. I think I know why my MILO files aren’t working. They’re not RB3 compatible.
Sooo… How do I convert a MILO extracted from RB2 to be suitable for RB3?
July 8, 2019 at 3:50 am #505943There is now a new version of MiloMod. Version 1.3 is now out and fixes the following:
- Fixed an issue where the unused intro post-procs could potentially get parsed incorrectly.
- Fixed a timing issue with note off events for sing-along notes.
- Changed post-proc conversion to properly support blended and hard-cut post-procs.
That last point is particularly important. Previously, all post procs would blend with each other if one post proc followed a different one, behavior unlike how the authoring docs describe. This is due to how these events are interpreted in the Milo file that I wasn’t aware of before. Now, it works just like it’s supposed to.
July 8, 2019 at 1:01 pm #505948Thank you for all of your hard work on improving MiloMod. It greatly enhances my experience on the Wii and allows me to make increasingly higher quality customs with every release ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
July 11, 2019 at 2:24 am #505983Next feature I may work on is getting it to work better for multiple files. Maybe a command line batch option? And also, I still need to fix the compression.
