Spent an enjoyable 8 hours working on a single expert drum bit for a song I’m testing, I wanted to export it to a .rba file to test it on the game but when I exported it to a .mid file through REAPER I got this error..

    MIDI Compiler: Starting…

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): MIDI events at [92] after the end event at [92]

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (BEAT): MIDI events at [92] after the end event at [92]

ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (PART DRUMS): Bad MIDI note 109 at [77]

    MIDI Compiler: Done.

ERROR: Project Compiler: Midi compiler failed.

RBA Build ended at 11:56 PM.

I’ve looked at the coordinates on BEAT and PART DRUMS and everything looks normal, I’ve deleted notes on those coordinates and placed them by hand but I still get the error. Am I missing a plugin?

Those MIDI events after the end event are probably tempo map markers, checke them. That bad MIDI note is a note you need to delete, have Reaper show all MIDI notes if you can’t find it.

I was able to find the bad note but the other error is still going, check out this screenshot of my reaper project, I don’t have a tempo marker at 92.4.00 or 92.4.12

This is really odd, I fixed this error, ERROR: MIDI Compiler: (BEAT): MIDI events at [92] after the end event at [92], by deleting BEAT midi notes after 92.4.00, but it wants me to delete my drum notes after 92.4.00. I went ahead and deleted them just to see if the error would go away, and it did. This is really weird, I’d like to drum to the whole song and not the first minute.

I believe you should check the events track and move the end events at 92:4. They should be at the end of the song

Yeah, what he said. That looks close to where the [end] text event might be in your EVENTS track. You need to move that to the true end assuming you were using the template.

Bring the [music_end] to where the music file mutes off, and the [end] to around 2 measures past that. Then make sure your BEAT track has notes ONLY up until the [end]

Yeah, I underestimated the severity of the issue, you need to move your end event to the correct place.

Thanks dudes, I’ll submit this song depending on how long it takes me being that this is my first song.
