It’s true, look at the numbers these boy band songs do on the customs spreadsheet. Thanks for these I know they will be popular at the next RB party!
It’s only a matter of time until New Kids on the Block “The Right Stuff” shows up.
January 6, 2016 at 1:27 pm #461679Hello again guys, this week is a good one! A huge thanks to GreenPanda12 For working on vocals, keys, pro keys and guitar, bass and drums fixes. Would not have been able to do this without him! We are also working on a HUGE amount of Paramore songs so keep an eye out on both mine and his thread. We wanted these out ASAP because we thought they might be released soon.
January 6, 2016 at 1:36 pm #461681That’s pretty cool, I generally like what I hear from Paramore. Thanks!
Glad to hear you are working on more. There is one in particular I was hoping for, and was on my very long-term list of customs to do. I’d be willing to lend a hand on that one if you do happen to be working on it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> I can send a PM if you’re interested.

January 6, 2016 at 10:40 pm #461713Sooo you’re saying you’re purposefully working to beat the system?
This ^^^ Haha!!
After running into this problem with Coldplay last release, we figured to get these 2 out of the way first cause they’re the most likely to get released by HMX!!

January 10, 2016 at 6:54 pm #461855Hey Mango, Did you ever get a chance to look into the sound levels of Under the Sea? My wife loves to sing this song, but we have to turn the volume up a lot so the *dings* when we get a star, or the overdrive activation is Super loud.
Thanks for all your hard work on these amazing customs!

January 19, 2016 at 2:55 pm #462299Hello everyone! Today I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with Farottone about his brand new project, The House of Customs!
Thank you Mang0 for the opportunity: you are a great member of this community and your songs have been a great addition to the C3 releases. In fact, me and Mang0 are working to bring you a House of Customs season 1 episode featuring a collaboration pack, which is pretty awesome because he has great taste and I really love this collaboration.
That we are, and I’m super excited about what’s comming for everyone. So tell us more about The House of Customs.
I love TV series and I love customs, so it seemed to me a perfect fit to do a mix of both. The idea was to structure my releases in a way that would keep people coming back week after week but also in a way that would make it feasible for me to do it, because there is no way I can realistically fill 52 weeks in a year of only my releases without compromising quality, quantity or duplicating content on a regular basis. This way Im gonna do a couple of seasons a year and were gonna get the weekly cycle while allowing me to work on a reasonable amount of content. I also think that having a premiere date generates more buzz and helps to keep interest in the project.
Each release will be treated like an episode, so its gonna have a proper title and at times Ill be borrowing title styles from famous TV series, so TV series lovers can look for some cute reference in there! Also, I wouldnt rule out some special mini-series in-between seasons this summer or some one-off special episode, you know.
Finally, heres the juicy detail: the series will premiere with a triple episode, spanning the first 3 weeks of release. Its gonna be a rather big pack of an artist already in Rock Band, already released by C3 and of which I have already released songs. The few authors who have seen what the release is have given wonderful feedback, so I hope its gonna be a good release for everybody.
Oh I’m sure it will be, I honestly can’t wait. Now about the customs themselves, will they be full band?
I will sometimes break my full band only rule because there are songs I did on drums and vocals only for my personal use that makes no sense to withhold: it will be up to you to ignore those songs if you dont play those instruments. Those will however be the the exception: most of my songs and most of my releases will be full band, pro keys and all. Pro keys will follow the C3 rule of leaving them out if theyre objectively very hard to transcribe. You will probably see a bit less pro keys in songs (but not songs with pro keys) because some of the songs Ill be releasing come from those I couldnt release through C3 because of no keys. Again, as a general rule pro keys WILL be in though.
I see, well we are almost out of time, was there anything you wanted to say?
Well, I have to say, I’m pretty excited to get back to releasing, and I think this is the best time ever for customs since C3 ended releases with Nunchuk and Sy going strong, Bearz coming back in the game and so many new authors publishing. But hey, what was your experience with C3 like?
Oh it was great! I found C3 late 2014 and loved it instantly. A few months in and I decided to try and make a custom. After hours of learning and many MANY errors, I finally finished it and posted it ASAP. In a matter of days I had people thanking me and wanting more. I started doing weekly releases and more and more people were enjoying them. Eventually people were saying I should try and make them C3 songs. I never thought they were good enought though. Out of the blue I get a message from Farottone, asking if I wanted one of my songs to be added to C3. Before I knew it and I had done 5 or 6 songs for the C3 database, each one being better than the last. Making them C3 worthy was a blast. It was great to talk with Authors about what was working, what wasn’t and how it could be better. There was one time in particular where 3 songs needed reductions for the release that night, and I was working all day. So 5 in the morning I wake up and open Reaper. 5 minutes before I have to leave everything was added, tested and sent over for release.
Easily the best moment for me was my Grease pack. It was in my to do list for so long, then made into my work in progress, and then suddenly picked up for the last few C3 releases. I was so happy, yet so sad, as C3 releases were coming to an end. What I miss about it most was that anticipation of what was coming in the next set of releases. I would wait until 1pm, refreshing the page, waiting for the songs to pop up, then go to bed only to wake up in about 5-6 hours time. It’s been simply a joy being a part of the communtiy and I have no plans to stop making customs anytime soon. There may be one comming just around the corner, An artist that’s not in Rockband yet!
Wow I really rambled on, and now we’re out of time! Thank you Farottone for comming here and talking to us about The House of Customs.
Thank you again Mang0 for this space and I would be thrilled to see you all on my next stop of my PR tour at Nunchuck and Sys place for a guest host spot and one more exciting piece of news!
You know I’ll be there, and so will everyone else. So from Farottone and I, We’ll see you next time!
