So with the release of C3 Magma 2.0, we now have custom skin support as you might have seen, so here is a thread for posting skins you make, download skins and other stuff.

    -How To Make Custom Skins-

    1. Make sure you have C3 Magma 2.0 installed, then go to Magma -> skins. Here you will see a folder called “template” and a .SKIN file also called “template”. Copy the folder and rename it as you wish, then copy the .SKIN file into the folder and rename it to be the same name as your custom skin folder.

    2. Open the .SKIN file in Notepad, here you can customize the color palettes and button/dropdown menu designs (closer instructions are in the file, so don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds). To find hex colors, open a picture editing program like Paint.Net or Photoshop, find a color you want and copy the hex code from there (or use a site like this: http://www.color-hex.com/)

    3. Now you probably want to add a background for your Magma skin. You can do this in two different ways:

—*Have one 750×600 JPEG file called “tabs_all”

—*Have three different 750×600 JPEG files called “information_tab”, “audio_tab” and “gamedata_tab”

Once you have made one, simply save it to your custom skin folder for Magma to use it. (note: due to a error in the programing of the core programing the background color will stick out over the picture on the far right part when the to do list is active, so it’s strongly recommended to have your picture fade into your background color of choice at the right edge).

    4. Edit any other picture files as you want them, for example making custom tier symbols.

    5. Now open your skin in Magma by dragging your .SKIN file into it or select it from the Options -> Skins dropdown menu. If everything looks fine, then congratulations, you just made your first Magma skin! If something looks off, then just close the program and edit the files, then restart the program to see if you managed to fix it. To install skins, simply put the downloaded skin folder along with your other ones in Magma -> skins and open the .SKIN file in it.

Here are two skins I have made with the program:

    Nine Inch Nails 1

It’s not so much an error as a bad choice when the original layout of the program was conceived, since it was not intended to stretch and contract. But anyways, you can use an image named background.jpg that will be shown behind the tabs and covers the TO DO list as well, so you can start messing with the images to get something like a nice flow from the tab background image to the actual program’s background image. It’ll take some fiddling on an image editor, but it can be done. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

I’ve also made two skins, both based off albums of mine. I’ve even gone as far as to make custom tier icons, though my attempt at 8-bit graphics look rather MSPaint-y.
