In the next update could you fix the magma issue where only English gets saved in the Languages section on the Information Tab?

Whenever you open up a magma project that was saved with any language besides English checked in, the check box won’t be checked in anymore

That sounds like a bug that was resolved a long time ago. I just spent a while messing with a project, changing the selected language to different languages, and also selecting multiple languages. Every time I would reload the project, right language(s) were selected.

I did notice when starting a new project the language boxes wouldn’t clear right, so I can fix that. But what you’re describing is not something I can replicate on my end.

Make sure you’re using the latest version.

I am using the newest version. I made sure to double check before my previous post and tested multiple times with different languages and it never loaded the language properly when opening a Magma Project unless it was English by itself or English+Another language

Even now I tried again and the same issue is still there

Just gonna throw this out here for everyone.

Because not a lot of people know it exists, but, like, it’s super useful for troubleshooting/bug replication.

If you’re using Windows 7, click Start, and type “problem steps recorder” into the search box.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/wind … s-recorder

(If you’re using Windows 8 or 8.1, it’s just titled “Steps Recorder” iirc, because they realized it’s also useful for documenting “how to”-type stuff.)

Obviously not feasible if you have a bunch of sooper sekrit stuff that would show up on your desktop or w/e, but just hide that stuff while you’re reproducing.

I wonder if I could get a link to v3.2.6? I seem to have deleted my copy.

I’m having a problem adding vocals to this project.

    Here’s the original archive.

The same project compiles without issue in v3.2.5.

Moving Magma has not solved the issue. I miss Audio preview.

edit: I added Pro Keys to this project this morning, and now it compiles without complaint.

I get this when trying to compile. KEYS track is there… I guess I’m not the only one… In my situation though, Pro keys is there too, and that doesn’t fix it.

As far as Part Keys not found error, I believe that is a bug in Magma when you don’t have the lower difficulties charts placed in your Keys track. Just copy and paste your expert chart for all the difficulties and the error should go away.

I have four major programming projects, and it is no surprise to anyone Magma is by far my least favorite. So I left it for last with these updates. But I’m on it now so expect an update sometime this upcoming week.

Then expect no more updates for a good while.

So I had to take a day off work today because of some reaction to a medicine I took last night, and sooo I spent all day in front of the computer, of course

    v3.2.8
    NEW FEATURE
    - Added check to prevent compiling of songs with the backing track audio used for every instrument
    - Added check to prevent compiling of songs with PART REAL_GUITAR_22 and PART REAL_BASS_22 without their standard 17 fret option
    - Added check to prevent compiling of songs with invalid PART REAL_GUITAR or PART REAL_BASS note velocities

    FIXES
    - Fixed bug that broke auto-generation of keys animations and fake pro keys charts
    - Various other bug fixes and improvements

Hopefully this addresses all bugs that were reported and the few requests that I got. Enjoy.

Keep in mind I’m taking a break so I will not be updating any of my programs for at least a few weeks.

    v3.2.9
    FIXES
Changed from using SoX for audio playback to using BASS.NET so Windows Vista (and maybe Windows XP?) users should be able to preview the song audio without problems

Consider this the Colonel_32dll update. If you were able to preview in-game audio with earlier Magma, no need to update. This only changes the audio playback from SoX to BASS.NET. Nothing else. If on the other hand, when you clicked Play in the Audio tab you got choppy, useless audio, then this is the update for you.

And it works beautifully! Thanks, Nemo, for putting in all the extra time and effort to make this feature accessible to those of us with older systems.

    Glad to know it works.

I think at this point Magma: C3 is pretty stable, and I’m taking my break damn it.

Feel free to post bug reports or suggestions here for when and if I come back to work on it.

I updated to 3.29 when it came out. I’ve compiled CONS since then that ran fine. Now today all of the sudden every project I open and try to compile tells me I have different sample rates for the audio files. I made sure they all match but no change. I though it was just the latest one I was working on but I’ve tried several projects including ones that worked a few days ago. I have no clue what is going on.

    UPDATE:

I reninstalled 3.2.7 and everything works fine.

Stop reinstalling old versions. That’s not how to solve a problem.

I’m fairly sure you had the wrong settings in Magma. Did you check Options -> Use silence tracks by default -> and made sure the selection there matches the audio tracks you normally use for backing? Did you try changing the audio tracks that Magma was using by right-clicking on the instrument and selecting the correct ones to match your backing audio?

Uninstalling a current version is not the solution. Ever. Typically, it’s user error.
