Is that happening on all songs or only some? It may be the same bug that lowlander had with his release recently. Arghhh…
December 8, 2014 at 8:02 pm #434064As far as I can tell, everything I’ve built with 3.2.4 is missing the ID in the songs.dta.
To be clear, the tag is present, just the ID is missing.
('song_id' )
December 8, 2014 at 9:56 pm #434066That’s not right. I’ll work on this today.
December 9, 2014 at 3:38 am #434082Problem found and fixed. New release coming sometime tonight.

v3.2.5
FIXES
- Fixed songs compiling without a song ID in the songs.dta file that would happen for songs without 2x bass pedal versions
- Improved importing of existing songs to carry over the existing unique numeric ID if the song already has one
- Reworked the underlying code for the importing of songs.dta files
- Fixed other minor bugs
If you’ve compiled any non 2x bass pedal songs with v3.2.4 they probably don’t have song IDs in their dta files. That’s not good. Just recompile with v3.2.5 and the song ID that was assigned to that song will be used (v3.2.4 was assigning them but not using them during compilation).
I also carried over the huge work I’ve been doing with C3 CON Tools these past few days over to Magma as far as importing DTA/CON files. It should work a tiny bit better than before, but is much easier to maintain for the future. Please let me know if anything is broken in that feature. I tested it a bunch of times but again, this program is so complex the only way to really get the bugs fixed is by letting you brave 30 or so people who download each new version to test them out. Thanks to you.
December 10, 2014 at 6:20 pm #434157I’m loving my wipe proof customs.
Thank you nemo for yet another fabulous function.
December 30, 2014 at 6:06 pm #435412Is it possible to do something similar to the visualizer on C3 Con Tools, where you can hear the song preview?
So then you can set a time and then actually hear what section would be used for the preview
December 30, 2014 at 6:22 pm #435413Yeah it’s probably doable. I’ll look into it next year.
January 11, 2015 at 7:37 am #435959Would it be possible to have Magma ignore/delete every note 95 instead of throwing a “Bad Note” error when compiling? When I do songs with 2x bass pedal, I put the double bass notes on note 95 so it’s easier to convert for Phase Shift’s Expert+ Drums.
This image for example: http://i.imgur.com/r6BXSMO.png
Sometimes it gets tedious when I have to delete those notes, export midi, undo the notes back, build, find another error, fix it, and repeat.
January 11, 2015 at 7:06 pm #435981I can make it delete the notes at 95 prior to compiling, sure.
January 11, 2015 at 9:06 pm #435990Here’s an update:
v3.2.6
NEW FEATURE
- Added ability to play the in-game audio preview - just press Play in the Audio Tab
- Added ability to cancel the batch song id replace process so you don't have to wait until it finishes
- Added ability to leave in Phase Shift Expert+ drum notes (note 95) in your REAPER project, Magma: C3 will remove them prior to compiling your song
FIXES
- Improved importing of songs.dta/CON files
- Added notification when user tries to compile a song without ever having saved the project
- Added notification when user tries to compile without enough audio tracks and might end up with a corrupt audio file
- Changed behavior so all file names and file paths in the CON file will be in lowercase for better compatibility for PS3 users
- Improved code for DevIL's wrapper for safer and faster interaction with DevIL.dll, used in the image handling and editing album art
- Improved code for HMX's own MagmaCore wrapper for safer interaction with MagmaCore.dll (just a technical fix)
- Now using leaner version of NAudio.dll, trimmed and improved for much more accurate timing of notes and lyrics when working with MIDI files
Also, you guys are using the skinning feature, right? I prefer the C is for Colorful skin, but you can also use customs skins. Nightmare Lyra has a thread somewhere here with customs skins and instructions on how to use them. I’ll find it and link in the OP.
January 11, 2015 at 9:45 pm #435997Thanks for the update!
Glad to see that preview playback made it’s way into this update ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
January 15, 2015 at 3:14 pm #436308Thanks for adding the audio preview functionality, it is very useful!
January 15, 2015 at 3:58 pm #436311Glad to hear it’s working! It was done rather quickly and with none of the polish of cPlayer, so it’s not an exact representation of how it’ll sound in game (doesn’t take into account attenuation or panning values at all), but it’s more than enough to know what part of the song will play in game ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
January 25, 2015 at 4:21 am #437003Here’s an update. It may not look like much but a lot goes on “under the hood” – if you were waiting for a time to update, this is it.
Anyone with questions, problems, suggestions, or existential quandaries, you must be on this version or newer or I will not be of assistance.
v3.2.7
NEW FEATURE
- Added button on main form to easily select whether to encrypt the song's audio or not
FIXES
- Fixed 'bug' caused by the updated NAudio.dll which would throw a Debug.Assertion message when cleaning certain MIDI files
- Various under the hood fixes and improvements when working with MIDI files (thanks to raynebc for the update to midishrink)
- Other minor bug fixes and improvements
