Woo hoo!

v3.2.2
NEW FEATURE
- Added feature to batch replace song IDs with unique numeric values - put all the CON files to be processed (individual songs/or packs) in the same folder, click on Options -> Use unique numeric song ID -> Batch replace song IDs and select the folder where you put the files, sit back and wait until it's done - that's it!
Alright, so it’s here. Cache wipe proof customs for everyone.
All of my customs and customs I was involved with (i.e. when I was helping Nightmare Lyra, etc) have been re-uploaded after batch-processing with this tool. I’ve done about 200 songs and they all work as intended and took not even 5 minutes to do. You can redownload all my customs and the TBRB songs, or do this process with the copies you already have to save time on downloading.
HOW DO I DO IT?
1. Download Magma: C3 Roks Edition v3.2.2 or newer
2. If you haven’t done it yet, click on the Profile button at the top of the forums, and get your Author ID from that page. Magma will ask you for this the first time you run it
3. Put all the customs you want to edit on one folder. It’s OK to mix single songs and packs together in that folder. This is the unfortunate part, as this means you do have to remove whatever you want to fix from your Xbox hard drive or USB stick, which I believe is the more tedious and time consuming part of it all.
4. Run Magma, click on Options -> Use unique numeric song ID (if not enabled by default, click to enable it) -> Batch replace song IDs.
5. Read the prompt. It took me less than five minutes to do 200 songs, but I have an Intel i7 processor and a Samsung Evo 840 Pro SSD (i.e. very fast hardware). It may take you a bit longer. It may take you less if you’re on better hardware. Point is, know to expect you may have to do some waiting. You have the chance to cancel at this point.
6. Tell Magma what folder to process, and that’s it. Just wait.
7. Copy the files back to your Xbox hard drive or USB stick.
8. You might have to delete your cache at this point, so you will lose your scores this one last time. From there on, scores should be safe no matter how many times you delete your cache, as now they’re being saved in your save game file.
Enjoy.
As of v3.2.3, the batch process is designed to skip DLC/RBN content. Do not bypass this safety feature. You will break things and your Xbox will most likely crash if you do. You’ve been warned.
November 16, 2014 at 2:16 am #432981What a time saver. I know what I’ll be doing before football starts tomorrow. So much looking forward to never losing a score again.
Thank you!
November 16, 2014 at 2:48 am #432983Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these tools, Nemo! You spoil us.
November 16, 2014 at 3:08 am #432984Those of you trying it out first, please let me know if it works as intended for you. It has for me so far, but my buddy C16 has had some issues with some packs. If you experience issues, post the songs.dta for the file(s) that don’t work correctly.
Also, there may yet be updates to this process, as we’re still working out the kinks. So stay tuned.
November 16, 2014 at 10:20 am #432990I decided to go the whole hog and throw all my 1187 customs into Magma. I’ll literally have to sleep on it.
November 16, 2014 at 12:15 pm #432993Is there any reason why I couldn’t change official dlc cons with this tool?

November 16, 2014 at 2:11 pm #433003Because I’d lose scores on official tracks after a cache reset – I store all customs on the hard drive and never go online.
November 16, 2014 at 9:04 pm #433015Because I’d lose scores on official tracks after a cache resetUnless these are edited somehow, you do not lose scores on official DLC after a cache reset anymore than you will now with customs after this process. They are stored in the save game file, not the cache. If you were losing scores, something is wrong on your end.

November 16, 2014 at 10:20 pm #433020This batch replace song ID is very cool. The task of taking my 4000+ customs and using this tool seems like a great idea but there is a hurdle. When it comes down to extracting the songs from my xbox USB hard drives back to my PC, I have only been able to extract one song at a time using Horizon. Is there a way to setup Horizon and Party Buffalo so that they extract all 2900 songs from a USB stick to the PC automatically? Having to extract each song manually back to my PC would be the most repetitious, mundane sort of activity I could conceive in doing. In other words, no way jose am I doing that.
November 16, 2014 at 10:29 pm #433021Don’t use Horizon?
I use Modio 99.9% of the time. Only time I use another transfer app is for when the files will be bigger than 1GB. For a situation like yours, I would use the other app I use in that situation: Party Buffalo.
I keep my customs and dlc together on my Xbox HDD. For major stuff like this I connect the HDD directly to the PC using the transfer cable I got from Gamestop, then Party Buffalo to get from or add to the HDD to my PC.
Some people feel very strongly about which programs to use. I use those two and never had a problem.
November 16, 2014 at 10:54 pm #433023I’ve been using Horizon from the getgo but I just don’t see an option to extract all songs from the USB drive to the PC in one click. I’ll have to try Modio and Party Buffalo to see if they can copy all songs with one click. Thanks
November 17, 2014 at 2:27 am #433030That’s why it’s worth having everything backed up on your computer. You can just dump anything you want replaced from your PC to your Xbox HDD.
This thing is amazing. I ran all my Guitar Hero, Customs and Beatles packs through it and replaced them from my PC to my Xbox. Even tested it, my scores were still there. As for official songs, I don’t know how Nemo does it but my scores never saved to my save file. I just connect to Rock Central to retrieve my official scores without a song cache present to get those scores back. I’m playing with the idea of doing this with all my official songs too, just to avoid needing to connect to Rock Central ever again, but it’ll require a bit more work due to my set up. For anyone else, you totally can do this with your official songs. Just don’t expect to not have to modify any and all song upgrades, since the IDs won’t match and you’re have to manually change them.
But yes, this can work with official songs and you can modify upgrades to match.
November 17, 2014 at 7:43 am #433039I’ve played three songs using this method so far, two in packs and one in no package, simply an individual song. I don’t have any tangible advice to offer other than, so far, it works like a charm.
