There’s a link to Be Me Lover in the post above yours if Nemo is willing to download that along with the A Million Ways song he downloaded earlier.
EDIT: Also just sent a PM to Nemo with a Rar containing 22 of my songs.
November 10, 2014 at 2:07 am #432584Is there anything else I can provide that will help troubleshoot this issue? I’ve provided the dta and con file for the one song that managed to load for me below.I’m going to download and try the songs you sent me, but it would be very helpful if others could test your songs and report whether it works for them.
I’ll let you know my findings.
November 10, 2014 at 4:14 am #432591Problem found, solution in the works. I’ll work it out with clintilona over PM and when we’ve confirmed a solution I’ll post an update on here.
November 11, 2014 at 12:39 am #432652Alright, I worked things out with clintilona and with the help of Nyxyxylyth. This small update should fix the couple of issues that were brought to my attention.
v3.2.1
FIXES
- Fixed numeric IDs to work properly after user feedback showed some problems with prior code
- Fixed compilation of MIDI files with combined 1X and 2X drum tracks, now 1x and 2x CONs are built correctly again
- Other minor fixes and improvements
November 11, 2014 at 4:13 am #432659It appears to be working as intended now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
The recompiled CONs appear as expected, and I was able to delete the cache and retain my scores.
Thanks to you and all your helpers.
November 11, 2014 at 4:42 am #432660This newest version of Magma is a MUST for anyone authoring or converting customs and compiling with Magma. All you have to do is enable “Use Unique Numeric Song ID”, enter “Your author ID” code that is found on the front page of your C3 Profile and you will never lose your scores again. Also everyone who downloads your customs will be able to retain their scores forever. It’s a total no brainer and there is no reason whatsoever to not enable this feature.
I know I am going back and re-compiling every song I’ve authored so that myself and everyone else who plays the songs will never lose their scores again.
Thank you Nemo!
One thing I am wondering is if this will now enable us to play songs with the Unique Numeric Song ID online under TU5?
November 11, 2014 at 5:01 am #432661Why would it? TU5 keeps you from playing customs based on tempo maps, not the ID.
November 11, 2014 at 5:12 am #432662I tried it back when we were doing C3 author-only testing, and this was just because I was switching caches and title updates to see if the score saved. Suffice to say, no, you can’t play these online.
November 11, 2014 at 5:20 am #432663Very excited to try out this new version of Magma. Thank you very much!
November 11, 2014 at 5:56 am #432666Why would it? TU5 keeps you from playing customs based on tempo maps, not the ID.To go into more detail, it’s actually more the entire midi file alone keeping it back. Basically, on TU5 if the song package is a CON, it’ll check its midi file name. If it’s not one from RB1, it’ll automatically give you the dirty disc error. If it is from RB1 however, then the game will check its SHA-1 hash and compare it with the one stored on the game. If the midi file has been modified in any way, the game will know and give you the dirty disc error.
The only way to get around it would be by using an RBHP-style upgrade. The main midi file would be one from RB1 and the upgrade midi would contain the custom charts. The problem with that is that you can replace everything except the tempo map. So your custom song would be using the tempo map from the RB1 midi.
November 12, 2014 at 1:24 am #432703Does it hash the entire MIDI file or just the tempo track? Previously, it was believed one could use a RB1 track’s tempo track with a custom and it would work (although the song wouldn’t be properly tempo mapped).
November 12, 2014 at 1:49 am #432704Does it hash the entire MIDI file or just the tempo track? Previously, it was believed one could use a RB1 track’s tempo track with a custom and it would work (although the song wouldn’t be properly tempo mapped).By checking its hash I’m referring the game just performing a calculation on the bytes of the midi file to verify it hasn’t been tampered with. The way the workaround works is by keeping the RB1 midi file in the song package so the game performs the hash calculation on the RB1 midi file to verify and allow its usage in a CON package. The reason you’re stuck with the tempo map from the RB1 song is due to RBHP-style upgrade limitations. You can replace/add any track except the tempo map.
November 12, 2014 at 2:30 am #432705If numeric IDs are being used, how do you erase scores?
November 12, 2014 at 2:55 am #432707Change the ID of the file.
November 15, 2014 at 5:14 am #432940This is coming soon.
Still got to test in game, but all the files look great on the PC. Those are the 82 TBRB files, which will be my first batch of cache wipe proof customs, followed by all my C3 and non-C3 (non-Beatles) customs.
Expect a release of Magma with the batch feature probably sometime this weekend.
