wow – I know this will be a pretty big deal (and a reassuring fix) for a lot of us. Thanks!
November 1, 2014 at 2:18 pm #431962Wow! This is awesome to no longer have to see scores disappear from customs after necessary cache resets. Huge update!
I am both filled with excitement and dread when someone makes it possible to update older customs to these new unique song ids. The dread part comes in having to remove and re-pack all my existing songs again, but it will be well worth it. Is this something that could possibly happen in an additional feature of the Con Tools down the line?
November 1, 2014 at 2:22 pm #431965You are correct. It’s going to be either an addition to C3 CON Tools or a stand-alone tool. Still have to decide that.
And you are also correct in that it will be a huge undertaking. No matter how you look at it, it will involve a LOT of work on the part of the user, since even if I create a tool to batch replace all the song IDs for every custom you have, you still have to get every custom out of your Xbox, onto the PC, edit with that tool, then put back on the Xbox. And you would definitely lose scores that initial time as well.
This is something that should have been done since day 1 of customs. But it’s only with time and more and more prodding that we can figure these things out unfortunately.
November 1, 2014 at 7:21 pm #431973Wow this sounds awesome. Any news on a release date for existing song functionality?
November 1, 2014 at 7:33 pm #431976I haven’t even begun to work on it. I first want to see people use the feature on new customs and get feedback on that before spending any time on applying it retroactively.
November 2, 2014 at 1:14 pm #432008So I tried using the new version with a song with both single and 2x drums and it says it’s making both files but then there’s only one con and I’ve tried this with multiple projects. Any ideas?
November 2, 2014 at 2:45 pm #432014You’ll need to be much more specific than that.

November 2, 2014 at 2:57 pm #432018Looks like the file name for both 1x and 2x are the same but there are also 4 RBA files that are created. 2 for 1x and 2 for 2x.
November 2, 2014 at 2:59 pm #432019Ok that’s helpful. I’ll see what i fucked up later today.
November 9, 2014 at 5:28 am #432520I reinstalled ver 2.2 and ran the project I had trouble with and now both 1x and 2x cons are being made so it’s definitely a bug in the new version ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
November 9, 2014 at 4:32 pm #432536So I’ve just re-compiled over 40 projects to take advantage of the Unique Song ID feature and not a single one is showing up in game. This is a fresh Magma folder after removing the entire folder of the previous version. The Song IDs seem to be working fine as the numbering is going up after each build. At first I thought that maybe it was due to importing rbproj files from previous Magma versions to build the new cons, but I’ve tried redoing one from scratch without success. This has all been done after deleting the cache, so that’s not the issue.
Anyone else having this problem with the newest Magma?

November 9, 2014 at 4:39 pm #432537That all looks fine in the DTA to me. And before releasing i waited to get confirmation from a couple of testers and it worked for them. I’ll try your CON on my xbox and let you know.
November 9, 2014 at 4:57 pm #432538That all looks fine in the DTA to me. And before releasing i waited to get confirmation from a couple of testers and it worked for them. I’ll try your CON on my xbox and let you know.I thought the dta looked good after I built the first one and figured it would be fine in game. I wish I would’ve tried it first before building the other 40 songs. Oh well, I appreciate the help and am excited to get this new feature working.
Also, forgot to mention previously that I experienced the same 2X bass version issue that was mentioned recently.
November 9, 2014 at 4:58 pm #432539I just copied your CON to my Xbox. Fired it up.
Make sure you don’t have duplicate CONs on the Xbox and make sure you’ve deleted the cache from each storage device attached to your Xbox. That’s the only explanation I can think of.
Also, based on Song Analyzer, that Pro Keys is a copy/paste of Keys. If so, you should disable Pro Keys in Magma so the player doesn’t get the choice to play “pro keys” in game.
