Updated the OP. By my count (which includes one leak they still haven’t acknowledged) that’s 51 on-disc songs announced. Am I missing anything?

I like this announcement more than the last. Caught Up in You is a great song, and should confirm Hold On Loosely won’t be delisted. I love that they got a decent Bosstones song, even if its been done. Also nice to see Cake in an official capacity finally.

I would think there are still some real knockouts left to announce. I think we could see another one of those past GH ‘exclusives’ make an appearance. Maybe Eagles, ZZ Top, Michael Jackson, maybe even Metallica.

My gut feeling is that Elvis and Van Halen *were* the big knockout announcements, and that there won’t be more than a handful more songs left to announce.

          Hope you’re right, though.

I kinda wish C3 would give a little grace period before removing songs, considering my flash drive stopped working a few weeks ago and I’m rebuilding my library and previously had that Cake song… oh well.

Yeah, I’m seeing the same sentiment on a Facebook group I joined to help out initially and now just read mostly.

My recommendation is, as it has always been: download everything. For most of you bandwidth and storage space is dirt cheap. There’s no excuse. It’s better to download as it comes out and ignore it if you don’t want it (now) than wanting it later and realizing you no longer can get it Who knows when GoDaddy decides they don’t like what I’m using the server for and pull the plug and everything is gone? :wth:

For my part, I have a 1TB hard drive dedicated to Rock Band customs and other related files, and have every single C3 custom, every single file from the repository, plus all the other unreleased goodies that might or might be released by others in the future

But it also begs the question. What if a song is downloaded, and a bug is found that would necessitate a re-upload/reconversion by StackOverflowOx, and it so happens that the song in question would be announced by HMX? Would I or anyone else have to resort to PMing Stack for a direct file transfer of a reconversion, or would he not even have access to the original CON to reconvert and optimize for Wii?

As a hypothetical. I kept a copy of “The Reflex” before it got delisted. I have not run it through Stack’s packing tools yet. But let’s say that I pack it for use on the Wii and it freezes at the title screen of RB3 to due to missing venue data. Am I forever stuck with a non-working version because Stack himself won’t have a CON to work with?

Once a song is available officially, go buy it. “But I’m on the Wii…” I was “on the PS3” and then bought an Xbox 360: there is no law preventing people from buying a different console. “But I don’t have the money…” I really wish had the money to do everything I want but I can’t, so I have to settle, but I don’t use it as an excuse to feel entitled to anything.

For the very last time: we are pulling songs because the #1 directive is do no harm to Harmonix. If you really want a song, download it when it’s released and play with it. If anything happens once a song is pulled you can either buy the real thing or learn how to manipulate the file you downloaded. We are REALLY going to stop releases in a month or so, and we are REALLY pulling anything that is announced, either from C3 or from independent authors. Don’t take our operation for granted, we are here because we have been left alone and in order for that to have a prayer to work we want to proceed as we explained.

This is why I always download every full band custom as soon as I see it, whether it be C3 or Other Customs. You never know when it could be gone. I’ve now got over 6500 full band songs for RB3 in storage, of which I play around 1200.

You missed interpreted the post. RB4 was the last hope to get some PC gamers to buy a console. This awful set list is bringing back the nightmares of playing RB3 online and we’re all playing the same 5 songs over and over because no one has DLC and Harmonix saves all the good songs for DLC. Harmonix has turned into QVC, casinos, freemium games, alcohol, etc. Generating all their money off addicted degenerate junkies who have to keep buying DLC for their fix. The rest of us don’t need it and have better things to spend our money on. And that’s why their market has dwindle down to almost nothing. That dishonest business model.

You’re playing this character to perfection, you know. Great role-playing.

Thank you sweetums. Commitment to character is the key. :v:

Well, the major reason I wanted to get Short Skirt/Long Jacket back was because it had pro guitar which has been dropped in RB4

Life sucks. That’s the harsh reality.

Yeah, you’re functionally stuck with the ‘last version’ before the item was pulled.

I’ve had guys PM me to privately send Metropolis Pt.1 because they wanted to play keys. I understand 100% the sentiment, it’s just that this is the price to pay to try and not get C&D’ed: download the songs when you can, use some kind of backup and hang on to them because they might just go away.

I’m only disappointed I didn’t download “What’s Up” before it got pulled. I don’t know how I overlooked that one when I was pillaging the C3 database the first time around, but for whatever reason I didn’t know it was a custom until everyone started talking about it getting pulled.

                        My reaction:

                        But I do understand… really… *sniff*

Same way I feel about “My God is the Sun”. I’ve gotten really into …Like Clockwork lately. I can only hope for official releases for “If I Had a Tail” and “I Appear Missing”.
