What, the fame, glory and the groupies weren’t enough incentive?
That’s why we do it
January 29, 2015 at 11:29 pm #437345I was just insinuating that if* there was a 5-lane C3 release, and someone wanted to take responsibility down the road for making pro keys, that they could be given the file (or possibly the file with just key specific charts in there and the audio), and the keys could be updated in at a later date? Just speculation.
Of course.
January 30, 2015 at 9:20 pm #437437This is sort of a nice/uncertain announcement for me. I have one song I’m authoring and all I have left is the vocal and keys parts. The vocals will be fine because I’ve been a singer for most of my life. The thing that holds me back are the pro keys chart. I just don’t know where to start for it. It’s not too difficult of a part either, I just have no Idea where to start.

March 1, 2015 at 12:42 am #439516if a song does’t have keys, can it be authored with rhythm guitar instead?
I think it would be good to use the keys track for rhythm guitar, benefiting that you can play with 3 guitars using “all instruments mode”.
they are not keys, just use the keys track and use it with a guitar, using a keyboard will have not efect (and you maybe die trying) , then pro keys are not needed.
if we can’t provide a song with keys (because does’t have keys) it is better to provide to the guitar players a second guitar.
That’s I think.
March 1, 2015 at 1:16 am #439519We already do rhythm on keys when the song warrants it, but it’s not a substitute for pro keys. People who want to play pro keys are not looking for a 5-lane guitar substitute. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

March 1, 2015 at 3:31 pm #439546ok, the song must have something to tell players that the keys are for rhythm guitar? You don’t have to unless a song already contains keys and you plan on making an alt version with rhythm guitar to keys. Then the best thing that can be done about it is to add “(Rhythm Version)” or “(Rhythm on Keys)” to the song title.
March 1, 2015 at 3:39 pm #439547Or you rely on the tools provided to you. Magma C3 allows you to mark the song and it adjusts the name accordingly. Don’t reinvent the wheel.

Actually, we don’t release songs with rhythm guitar on keys without a title tag, the reasoning being that if somebody downloads a song that has keys they expect them to be keys. Obviously this does not apply to independent authors but I suggest to always release a “normal version” with no keys and a Rhythm Version with guitar on keys.
