Hey! If anybody wish to answer this question for me… It would help. Which song so far you think is the most accurate? I kinda want to get an idea of which ones I did good on so I have a better idea on how I can make future charts better, so to say…
Unless no one wants to answer that then tis fine I guess.

I would say your most accurate drum chart [that you have a video for] would be Dinky’s Mom. However, there are still some parts that would need tweaking and the timing seems to be off sync at points.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to recall you used Xem’s Button’s Mom drum midi as a reference. If you did, you have to remember that since the songs probably had a slightly different BPM, you would have to adjust the placement of notes as well or it wouldn’t sync up right.
For future drum charts I suggest referencing the stuff I PM’d you as I think it should be helpful

Secondly, I don’t know if you should count Dinky’s Mom’s drums (and keys) as my own charting… I pretty much almost copy and pasted those…. (Did charted my own Guitar, Bass, and Vocals for that song though).
Also shouldn’t count PrinceWhateverer’s cover of “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” too at all for obvious reasons.

It may have seemed that way since the BPM for both songs are kinda close but they aren’t actually the same even if they are both covers of Stacy’s Mom
Button’s Mom is a pretty constant 120 while Dinky’s Mom is closer to 118.
Here’s a screenshot I took from Reaper (I cut down most of the notes from the beginning so the focus can be on the kicks and where the peaks are for the kicks)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/92334886/bpm.png
As the song goes on the kick notes start to go off-sync with the peaks and that is because the BPMs aren’t the same
Here is what it looked like after I changed the BPM to 118 and lined up the peaks to the beat lines. It’s not perfect but it’s closer to what the end result should look like
April 14, 2014 at 5:55 pm #417859AnonymousDinky’s Mom is closer to 118.I know for sure Dinky’s Mom is 120 BPM constant for whole entire song. I ALWAYS end numbers with 0s. The only time I would ever use a BPM, like 118, is if it was pre-made already… If I make one myself, then it will be number which ends with a 0. I also rarely change BPM through out the song so it is normally a constant BPM for whole song. “September” was the first song I actually decided to change the BPM at one point to see how things would work out. (Like a test, you could say).
“Can’t Take This” is 160. “Destabilize” is 180. I think “Heartmender” is 90 or 100. (I know it was pretty low).

I think you misunderstand how beatmapping/tempomapping works. Reaper can’t change the tempo of the song itself, it will stay the tempo it is and you have to make the tempo map match up to the actual song tempo for all the notes to line up properly, which yes often means you have to add a new tempo marker with lot of uneven numbers on each for every measure in most songs.

I misread his post. I thought he was talking about the actual BPM of the charts, not the songs.

Just to touch on this, since I didn’t catch it back when the convo was originally happening in April, normally the only time a purely static BPM will work is if stuff was done to a click track or it’s an electronic song where things are essentially mapped out like a .midi anyway.
It’s not uncommon for a song with a professed BPM of 128 to fluctuate between 120 and 130, depending, which is why you usually map tempo measure by measure on the 1. It’s also very common for songs to have a BPM that is not a multiple of ten, so I’d be a little wary of sticking to XX0 for tempos.
For example, here is a list of songs with a gauged BPM between 127 to 129 (and many of these will fluctuate slightly measure by measure): http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~davet/music/bpm/128.html
August 27, 2014 at 5:44 pm #428093Awoken needs some definite improvement. The guitar part is ludicrously overcharted, even on the easier difficulties.

And I know I wasn’t the best charter at all… (though honestly I think my best chart I’ve done is P1K’s Can’t Take This and the drums were overcharted for sure) but at least I did something in this area and I am proud of that, in a way.
So… If anybody want to fix these up, they can. I wouldn’t mind. Just let me so I can download the fixed up version and use that instead of my own, and deleting my own from the list.
August 28, 2014 at 8:10 pm #428177I think Something may be wrong with the vocals on some of these songs (Can’t Take This and September)
Whenever i sing those songs i’m exactly on key but it says i’m not and its only on those songs so could you fix them

1stly, I’m not the best charter… (Which is why I am honestly done).
2ndly, I deleted September from my list because… I was ashamed for doing the chart honestly… The song deserves a much better chart, in my opinion… “Can’t Take This” though seems good except for vocals at some points (and too many drum notes, eh).
