Hey I am Piked Pike and I thought I should introduce myself as I plan to (hopefully I will) do a bunch of things here.
But yeah I am in love with Rockband 3 and now this database.
My main instrument is Keyboard (hence why rockband 4 is just ‘alright to me), but I also can and do play all the other instruments including vocals.
Outside of Rockband I play and study music, play lots of other games (mostly casual like Pokemon and Stardew Valley cause I am gaming scum apparently). I also enjoy TTRPGs cause I wasn’t nerdy enough so I had to ultrafy the nerdiness gosh darn it.
I like pretty much all music, from Classical to Pop, from Country to Metal, from Jazz to Punk, but if I had to pick 3 best genre, probably Power Pop, New Wave and Punk Rock. I also come from a land down under so when I begin making charts (if I ever do, I want to, I even have a good first song), I will bring lots of Aussie stuff that you guys don’t have but should, cause the Hoodoo Gurus, Kisschasy, Killing Heidi among many other are fantastic bands. I also would do other songs that aren’t local, like Lemon Demon.
But yeah I hope that I can do things here, I already began importing songs like a week ago (and had issues, thankfully I asked and got help). Currently still playing through a list of 200 songs I instrantly grabbed, I do have criticism for those songs, I will try not to be too harsh, I just wanna help really.
But yeah this is me and I am glad to be here.

Yeah I would love to do some Oils, mostly my favourite 3 Kosciuszko, Blue Sky Mine and King Of The Mountain. That said it might be a while before I even get to them, I mean I have yet to chart a song (The first song I have chosen to chart is a Kisschasy song, Spray On Pants, it has all the instruments and the bass and keys pretty much do the same thing through the song, seems like a good first pick). But yeah if you wanna do those, feel free.
Always great to have another Aussie join the ranks. Whereabouts in Australia you from?

Ha ha, but I have only just got here, also I think playing and charting are two different beasts. I am very good at picking up single note lines and I can tell when things are wrong. But I still need to work on getting full chords correct, but I can do it with enough time I feel.
If I didn’t directly reply to you I am sorry, I just though this post is already getting a bit long and I couldn’t think of anything interesting to say in response, but geez all of you are so nice wow. I am still playing those songs I got, but yeah I will definitely make a post when I start charting.

I also loves playing Keyboard in Rock Band 3. I was very annoyed when they removed it from Rock Band 4.
It’s like, I understand if it wasn’t play as much but you can’t just remove an instrument from the game.
RB4 was supposed to be an upgrade from RB3, not a downgrade (removing instrument I classify as a downgrade).
Too bad because many of the RB4 DLC songs would have been improved with Keyboard.
One reason I haven’t gotten a PS4 or Rock Band 4 yet, because playing custom songs in RB3 is fun.
It’s nice to appreciate all the hard work people are putting into the songs (some songs that most likely never would be official DLC, or be HEAVILY censored).
Well, it’s always good to know of other people that enjoy Keyboard in RB3 like I do.
I like thinking that they removed keyboard because they realized how hard it can be to chart it

When I used to actively play in bands, having a keyboardist was always a PITA: you had to pick songs that featured keys, otherwise the keyboardist would start to add them (and end up doing terribly boring chords), and he’d never had the proper sound to match with the song.
