I’m going to be as broad as possible here for this topic. I love indie rock and I honestly don’t think there have ever been enough indie rock songs in Harmonix, RBN, or C3 libraries. I’ve been following Rock Band from the beginning and it’s been quite obvious how large the standard Rock and Metal fans there are who play this game. Indie Rock has always been more niche in the Rock Band communities. Bands like Modest Mouse, Interpol, Dinosaur Jr., Sleater-Kinney, and Vampire Weekend have gotten some Rock Band treatment, just to name a few, but I would love to see it expand and add some really great artists to the C3 library.

Some of my favorite indie (again, really broad and subjective, but the term is nowadays used to describe a sound or vibe rather than its independence or notoriety) bands that I’d love to see included (in no particular order) are Girls, Savages, Arcade Fire, The Thermals, Wilco, Titus Andronicus, Dum Dum Girls, Real Estate, Built To Spill, The xx, and The Drums, and I would love to see more Modest Mouse and more Radiohead.

So does anyone else favor Indie Rock here? What would be your song requests?

Love the genre – I find most of the songs that have been stuck in it to be a lot of fun to both play and listen to. So I’ll give this a big +1.

      Also giving this a +1!

I’ve already created a tempo map for Crystalised by The xx, and plan on doing the first two Neighbourhoods from Funeral, aswell as They Are Night Zombies, They Are Neighbours… by Sufjan Stevens.

Oh and I forgot to mention like an idiot one of my favorite modern bands, Silversun Pickups. I’m incredibly grateful Harmonix released one let alone five in total tracks for play. I don’t want to seem greedy and ask for more at this point, unless someone is a super fan like myself, but two tracks I’d love to see made customs are Little Lovers So Polite and Substitution. Great great tracks that would be golden on Rock Band.

I really need to learn how to make customs, I’d be doing these all on my own, lol.

You wouldn’t have to be on your own, because I’d do vocals for Substitution in a heartbeat.

Okay that’s it, I need a crash course in making these.

I’ll do the tempo map, because that’s the absolute worst for a first-timer. Everything else is filling in little boxes.

I’m breaking down the audio as we speak follow some guideline. I didn’t even realize there was a second guitar part in the song until I fooled around with it in Audacity. And yes, I split the two guitar parts together to be one part. Seems easy enough so far.

What’s easy? Did you tempo map it already? Send me a link to the RPP to make sure you don’t start on the wrong foot.

I PM’d you everything I have so far. I think I did it right so far. This would be easier if we talked this through via IM if you’re not busy sometime. I sent you my skype name as well for that.

Regarding Modest Mouse, I wonder, would it very hard to get a decent quality custom of Dashboard going on? As it was on GH:On Tour. I know it’s like their most overplayed song after Float On buuuut it’s still great!

Also I’m WAY on board for Crystallised by The XX, dude whose working on it!

I would be completely up for charting this if someone could find me the multitracks. It’s one of my favourites from We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.
