        1. Ending Events apparently. (To end song and such)…

In the events MIDI tube, find the measure in which you want to have the song and note chart highways go away, so for example if the music stops at 114.25 measure, put this text event at that measure at the bottom “[music_end]”. Then maybe count up a few measures to allow for some crowd cheering then maybe say on measure 116.1 put this text event “[end]”

        2. Lyrics for Vocal pieces.

when you have a note tube completed I usually double click on the bottom of the tube and add the lyrics manually, but when you double click you have to make sure that the type of note you want to put in is “Lyrics” NOT “Text Event” and NOT “Track name” which can sometimes be the defaults. there’s easier ways to import lyrics by saving them as a text file and selecting all the note tubes and hitting SHIFT+L to add lyrics, but then if you have vocal slides that might not be totally aligned so I do the manually putting in each lyric method I mentioned before.

        3. Also, having an issue with one note in Vocals. “Misaligned note at [44] (expected at [43])” I don’t get what’s wrong…

If you had done what I mentioned before with making sure all the little red or green arrows you assigned for lyrics are listed as “Lyrics” instead of text event or track name, If you select the lyric and hit SHIFT+L, it’ll allign the lyrics for you, if not you’ll just have to zoom in on the MIDI file really tight until you can be 100% sure the lyric and tube are aligned.

You’ll save yourself hours of trouble and frustration if you learn how to use Shift-L to load the lyrics from a txt file. This approach practically eliminates the misaligned lyrics problem completely. I can’t seem to find the reference for this, but basically you highlight the lyric notes, press Shift-L and choose a text file with your lyrics. You can also do a subset of the lyrics too or even just one. I usually also have an extra temporary text file that I use when I just want to fix a single lyric.

You can see how I did this in one of my current projects here:

My only problem with using SHIFT+L is the problem with the vocal slides being given lyrics. If I put in all the “+” first then push shift+L will it skip over the slided sections already put in place? I’ve never tried it before.

Shift L replaces the lyrics for every selected note.

So then I guess going through and selecting ONLY the notes that don’t have slides would make that helpful I suppose.

The other option is authoring the slides in your lyrics text file.

Keep in mind you can always undo the import lyric event, adjust your text file, save it, and re-do the event if you see a mistake. I’ve done that a lot. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif”>

Well… I fixed my End Event issue personally though in a different way but anyways…

Um. Do you have maybe a short video that shows how it is all done? I’m a little confuse mainly because not really knowing a ‘text note’ and such are… You know? And I’m asking for a short video mainly because I have a very slow connection so longer videos just take way too long…

Oh and I also decided to try out drums as well and figured out that the invisible notes (I’m guessing they are the text notes? Prolly would answer why I can’t seem to find any of them at all!) near the beginning has thing set to make the drum track not work…

Oh and from sounds of it, what Mr Met had said sounds better to me.

This video by Nyxyxylyth helped me a lot, the green arrows are events, and you can double click those and they’ll be a section to enter your text or lyric, then a drop down menu with options such as, text event, track name, lyrics, copywrite info, etc. Make sure all your lyrics have “lyrics” selected, most everything else should be text event.

                        ~Edit~

Eh. Screw it! I’m better off trying to find someone who knows what they are doing and work with them… They can prolly and easily get the lyrics within a day while I’ll be messing around for weeks, trying to figure this thing out…

Oh well. At least I was able to get the notes in for Vocals and Drums while also getting Guitar and Bass playable. (I actually already have this song on my Xbox but like I said, only Guitar and Bass… Wanna get Solo Vocals done badly though cause this song is so much fun to sing!) Oh well… I’ll upload the _rb3con file of this song with Guitar+Bass Thursday and see what other people think…

I wanted to say, I charted just expert guitar for one of my favorite Dave Matthews Band songs just to see if this was something I would like enough to spend the registration on Reaper. After solving problems, fighting with it and editing, it’s a great feeling to be able to play your song for the first time.
