I wish there was a function where I could let the song audio play, and just press a key at the start of every syllable to insert notes at those locations. Then I could go back and adjust pitch and note length, and add lyrics. I’ve tried to find a way to do that, but I can’t seem to make it work. It’d make charting vocals much less stressful and time-consuming…
EOF lets you do this (“Guitar tap” input method).
Go to the PART VOCALS stem of your project, stretch it out vertically nice and big so you can see the little box that reads “MIDI (not connected)”, then change that box so it reads Input:MIDI > Virtual Midi Keyboard > All Channels. Then hit Alt+B (or View > Virtual Midi Keyboard) and a keyboard that has notes corresponding to keys on your keyboard will pop up on screen. After that, simply Arm the PART VOCALS track for recording, hit play, select the keyboard again, and tap away at the syllables as they pass in the song on any note you desire.
Ta da.

Excellent, thank you!
