October 15, 2014 at 2:37 pm #431087Are you in the mood to try the latest and possibly greatest method to do cache resets? I’ve gotten this working on my end.
Get WiiXplorer. The latest, preferably.
Run it off your SD card with the Homebrew Channel.
Click on the Start button (lol I know) and go to Settings > Boot Settings.
Enable the second NAND option. Click OK on the dialogs that appear. You have to do this every time.
Exit the Settings menu.
Start the FTP. It’s in the Start Menu.
Download and install FileZilla.
Connect using the provided IP and port if it provides one.
You should now be able to access your SD card and NAND from your computer.
Go to title/00010000/535a4245/data and delete the MSTORE.VFF file. If you are having trouble navigating to a folder, it could just be a hiccup from the program. It’s not perfect and it’s a dead project, so this looks like an unavoidable issue. But, the result is still very convenient.
I’ll try it; what do I do if there isn’t a IP and Port? Do I install FileZilla on my computer?
October 15, 2014 at 5:15 pm #431091It should show an IP. Usually it’s a local IP like 192.168.1.78
You’ll need to use that to connect in FileZilla.

Ah; so it is the Wii’s IP address? Seems easy enough if that is the case; I am far too busy to sit down and work on this, but when I have free time, I’ll continue to work on it and ask more questions as needed.
October 21, 2014 at 5:41 pm #431418The next level – Lego Rock Band and Rock Band 1 songs.
Ok, I have successfully been playing customs on the WII and it is ace.
I have the discs for the above games and indeed RB2, and would like to get those songs in the game. I know you can’t import RB1 and LRB into RB3 – so how can I “unpack” the discs and get them in the game…… any advice please ?
I want to ensure that in all of this I get Hier Kommt Alex into the game. I remember downloading it for RB2 but I think the licensing ran out so that scuppered the import !?
Any help most appreciated.
I’m running a USB loader so presumeably it’s done through there ?
October 23, 2014 at 3:11 am #431487I’ve had some success for LRB and RB1 by using rawksd to get the audio and midis, and then using the dtas from the RBHP. The RB1 songs don’t sound as good as LRB ones and you’re limited in songs to ones that have been done in RBHP. I think I discussed this earlier in this thread when I had just started.
October 25, 2014 at 6:39 am #431635Question. If the file size limit for SD card users is 40mb, does that mean a large song like “knights of cydonia” won’t load? Its over 50mb.
Unrelated, is there any way to enable vocals on a song that doesn’t any? What I mean is to just have the mic be on to sing whatever you please on a song that would otherwise be instrumental. Maybe by editing the dta file in some way?
October 25, 2014 at 11:48 pm #431667Knights of Cydonia is already converted in the DB and is certainly not 50MB. That one specifically has been optimized to work on the console. However, if there are any unconverted tracks that are too large and you want to play, let me know so I can convert them. I don’t think any of the ones left are too popular.
I don’t think the game lets you just enable vocals when there’s nothing there. It could be looking for the track and crash. If you enter a setlist that has no vocals part, I think the game would let you in, given there is another valid instrument playing currently.

You need to author an empty vocals track, you can’t do that just by editing a DTA file.
October 26, 2014 at 5:16 am #431677Thank you both for the answers. As for “knights” I downloaded the wii rar file yesterday from the DB and the size was 52mb.
***Edit
I found the problem with the “Knights” file. The downloaded rar contains a duplicate “000_00000000_knightsofcydonia_song” folder within the folder of the same name. You might want to take a look at that, and re-upload it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
And yes, you have converted most of the popular ones. Thanks! The only others I wanted to download that aren’t converted were “munich” by The Editors, “I am the walrus”(from the Beatles spreadsheet), and “starlight” by Muse. Well my brother wanted “trapped under ice” but that’s not high on my list.
October 27, 2014 at 5:42 am #431717Yeah, will complete The Beatles this week. I forgot to scroll up last time I added new links.
Starlight though, I don’t know where this came from but as soon as the Xbox audio isn’t completely unusable, then I’ll convert. Otherwise, why bother. Sorry.
October 28, 2014 at 12:07 am #431757Sweet. No worries about starlight. There are a ton of great songs available in the database that I have yet to pack. Thanks.
October 31, 2014 at 11:45 pm #431943I got FileZilla and all that to work, but I don’t think I got the WAD to install properly. In WAD Manager v1.7 by Waninkoko, I get “Installing content #01… ERROR! (ret = -1022)
November 1, 2014 at 3:20 am #431953The WAD for what? Error -1022 sounds like the error you should be expecting.
November 1, 2014 at 4:50 pm #431970sZFE. I think it worked, considering when I go to “Manage Songs,” I have some songs I’ve never bought before. So what’s the issue when clearing the cache and reinstalling the WAD doesn’t work for a “Cannot be restored to Wii memory” error?
November 2, 2014 at 3:22 am #431995So it’s still giving you that error even after the successful WAD install?
What is your SysCheck looking like?
