You mean the emunand files? If it’s what I think the password is “Rudi4President” without quotes, case sensitive.
That is it. Thank you for your help.
January 5, 2019 at 12:16 am #502826Thanks a lot!!
I now managed to convert my first batch of songs to .bin files and set everything up as you described in your post! Thanks for sending me there ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
But I have run into the problem that Rockband 3 does not accept my SD-card it is a 32Gb SanDisk Micro SD with a SanDisk Adapter. It works fine with everything else, just when I start the game and it asks “Save add-on content on the SD Card?” it tells me that “The device insterted in the SD Card Slot cannot be used?” and that SD Card mode has not been enbaled.
Is that a known issue with certain cards or am I just unlucky and need another card?
Thanks for any suggestion and help!
Also formatted it a few times (exFat and Fat32) as I had all kind of stuff on it. So right now it’s only the apps folder. Tried it with an empty private/… folder.
And I formatted it without “Quick Format” (Found that somewhere online).
Okay figured out my mistake here. You have to load a specific version (56) into ios 249 to make it work.
Now RB loads from the SD card but it tells me that my dlc is “corrupted” and the bin files are being deleted (I am using disc and sd card here)
I have my Wii ID (from my BootMii NAND backup) and the common key (for wii from the internet and the forum). Any ideas what could still be wrong?

Try putting the customs (.bin files) in the folder “sZGE”
If you don’t have it, just create the folder. (Putting the customs in the folder “sZGE” is how I solved the same problem that you have)
Hope this works for you ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

So basically rename private/wii/data/sZFE to sZGE? And I guess change the file patch in the songs.dta?
Edit: That did the trick! Awesome. But now I am getting “The License for Add-on Content has been deleted from the Wii System Memory, to use the add-on content redownload Add-On content for which the license has been previously purchased”…
Just going from one error to annother
Edit2: Okay installed the sZGE wad with YAWMM and the songs show!!! But they “… cannot be restored to the Wii System Memory”. Do I need the sZFE wad as well??

You have to reset the cache. (The error is when you try to play a song, right?)
January 5, 2019 at 5:14 am #502834Taken from the OP: “If you’re getting a “Content cannot be restored” error, this usually occurs because either the _song folder may be missing, or the _meta folder is not structured properly.”
As for wad files, you only need the wad files for the generation(s) you are trying to use, the one you entered in the dta file. Your sZxE folder should match whatever you wrote in the dta file (or vice-versa) and well, you should install that wad file.
Also if you’re using sZGE, you should start at slot 001 probably, since this is a custom generation, there are no slots used by official DLCs in there.
January 5, 2019 at 9:42 pm #502845So, I dabbled around the newer dolphin version, and there’s an interesting thing happening with AIM on: the game crashes on difficulty selection.
Not sure exactly which version is safe so I’m gonna stick with my old ass 4.0-9399 version lol.
Someone else was having the same problem. Not sure what’s going on. I just tried the latest version as of now (5.0-8785) and everything seems to work fine. In fact, I even saw a tutorial pop up for regular Keys, which is something I never saw, even on console.
I’m experiencing this crash on the latest 5.0-9293. It only happens when you have “Concentration Mode v2” on and turn on All Instruments Mode. Either of those without the other seems to be okay.
I’d love if perhaps the Gecko code could be fixed because it seems the newer Dolphin versions have a feature to dump frames at internal resolution (not window size) which would be very helpful when recording videos.
January 7, 2019 at 7:40 pm #502875So I’m in need of some guidance. I feel like I’m close to figuring out the customs and have read through about 70 of the 144 pages but I must be missing something.
I’m using Dolphin and my Imported NAND from my Wii. I’ve installed the SZGE.wad the folders are there. I’ve copied versions of customs I’ve made that had multiple songs merged and got the Can’t Import Error. I started fresh and just tried to make 1 song and can get the 1 song imported but then it disappears before actually loading.
I have tried it with both the SZGE and SZHE and can’t get it to stay. My version of RB3 is SZBe if that makes any issue but I didn’t think it did.
I copied the 26.app to the folder and the title like instructed. My only issue is I’ve only 1 time gotten the packer to actually make BIN files. Is that my issue?
Thanks!
JasonJanuary 7, 2019 at 10:52 pm #502881As far as I know no one was able to use the custom generations (sZGE and sZHE) on dolpin.
Using dolphin, you can use app files which can hold alot of songs in a single slot, so you can either use the unused slots in sZFE if you want to keep DLC slots intact or just use a DLC slot from sZAE or whichever generation you want to use.
The only catch is that we do not provide activation files for these generation because this is technically piracy. You can find them using google and whatnot.
If you use your real wii’s NAND every slots that is unlocked on your real wii will be unlocked in dolphin.
January 7, 2019 at 11:10 pm #502883Alternity…Ill try looking into what you were saying. I havent looked too much into the locked/unlocked slot stuff. I started just doing the way where Stack was saying to start with 52/53 so Im assuming that it was high enough into the unlocked zones.
I was a bit confused on how many songs you can put into a VirtualNAND environment. Are you still limited to the 500kb Meta folder limit? That was capping out at about 12 songs for me it seemed. Or is that more for the Wii only?
I easily had $300 worth of DLC on my PS3 before it went up in Smoke so its frustrating to play the game without all the DLC I used to love playing and no way for my kids to play it without buying another PS3. Was a cheaper alternative to buy the game for our Wii and RIP it for Dolphin. Its a racket that you buy the DLC on one system but they wont let you transfer it to another system for the same game.
Im building a 4 player arcade machine for the family that Id love to have them play everything on. Including the Rock Band Rhythm games.
Thanks for your help!
January 7, 2019 at 11:16 pm #502884The numbers in the guide refers to sZFE, just a FYI.
In an app file there isn’t a file limit, you’re limited by the packer. Some dolphin versions will want legit sized app files (same limits as the SD card method), I’m unsure if the latest dev versions has that limit or not. Other than these versions, no size limit.
Just another FYI about dolphin, microphone doesn’t work still. You can also use real wii instuments through USB if you’re installing the passthrough driver that newer dolphin versions offer, they will act like a real wii, as long as you use the same USB port.
January 7, 2019 at 11:29 pm #502885Ok gotcha. The Packer is what won’t pack the files for the app if it is too big. Well right now I was just trying single songs and trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Like I said earlier I’m not getting the bin files made either. So I’m missing a file or step somewhere along the way.
Understand on the Microphone. I had heard that. I did get the guitar working fine so far in RB3 through the USB Dongle. That was pretty easy. I didn’t even have to do the Passthrough it was recognizes as an Emulated Wii Remote and just easy button mapping. I’m sure the drums will be just as easy to get setup.
With all the emulation across multiple platforms it’s shocking that nobody has gotten it fully functioning yet. The PS3 (RPCS3) emulator is functional now as a game but no working instruments. Kind of a problem.
January 7, 2019 at 11:58 pm #502886When you download the packer you do not need to do anything for app files, common-key and console ID does not matter, so your problem is not there.
January 8, 2019 at 12:13 am #502887Sounds good. And I don’t need the .BIN files for Dolphin then either? Appreciate your help Alternity!
January 8, 2019 at 12:36 am #502888Nope, these are only used for the SD card method.
