How to convert Guitar Hero songs?

Is there a way to convert songs from Guitar Hero into Rock Band 3? I want to convert some GH songs that aren’t in the database, starting off with Stray Cat Blues by the Rolling Stones.

Most worthwhile songs from GH were already converted. Stray Cat Blues was most definitely one of them, I have it on my hard drive so it should be available on the database (unless it was then released as official DLC and was pulled).

Harmonix hasn’t put a Rolling Stones song in any on their games since Gimme Shelter in the first one, so this needs to be in the database
Then you should be able to find that song online since I have it and I did not chart it myself. Look it up. If you can’t find it I might be persuaded to upload it. But try the database and search the forums first.

It actually was uploaded in the database by Kemiroch but it was later taken down because he was going to give it a new song ID. He hasn’t been on this website for a year now according to his profile.

There isn’t a straight forward program you load it into and convert it with and some are easier to convert than others. When I converted Kiss – Shout It Out Loud, it was a quick and simple convert, but the one I am converting now is a real pain in the Arse!! Probably better of just requesting the ones you are hunting to be honest.
In my experience, it’s not too hard. I do most of my actual note placement inside of Moonscraper (the charting software for Guitar Hero 3 and Clone Hero) and it has an option to export as MIDI. I would take the MIDI/CHART file of the GH song and run it through that, producing a semi-Rock Band compatible MIDI. All you’d need to do then is add Vocals, drum fills and maybe clean up a few sections, if you’re feeling adventurous maybe add keys.

But it’s a shame the project files are lost. I don’t know how to recompile it since I am relatively new to this kind of stuff. Hopefully, the song can reuploaded.

You can throw the CON at Magma and it’ll break it down into its parts as best as it can. Only problem is you’d need the audio files since Magma can’t separate the stems.
