I just got my copy of Rock Band 3 today, but none of the custom songs are turning up in the game. I followed the instructions and did everything
EDIT :
Still not working. I tried re-install the latest system updates to the Xbox and tried copying the autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache to the flash drive but still didn’t work.
I’m gonna write down the whole process i did so maybe someone can notice if i did something wrong:
First of all, there are no Madcatz logo on the gamedisc. Only the Harmonix-logo, the MTV-logo and the EA-logo. So i know it should work to play custom songs.
1. I plugged in the flash drive into the Xbox and formatted it.
2. I located and deleted “Rock Band 3 Title Update #5”
3. I took out the flash drive from the Xbox, inserted it into my computer and launched C3 CON Tools.
4. I opened RBtoUSB, selected the flash drive, copied TU4 to the drive and then copied all the custom songs to the flash drive. When i hit “refresh”, there’s an error box that pops up that says “Error searching drive for RB save game files. Invalid symbols in the search path” … i don’t know if this is relevant, but thought i would mention it.
5. I close RBtoUSB, take out the flash drive from the computer and plug it into the Xbox again.
6. Rock Band 3 is installed on the hard drive and i copied the autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache to the flash drive.
7. I start up Rock Band, but none of the custom songs are there in the song list when i choose “quick play”.
Have i missed something or done something wrong?
March 21, 2016 at 4:56 pm #465714Did you format flash drive through the xbox?
March 21, 2016 at 5:00 pm #465715Did you format flash drive through the xbox?
Yes, like i said i followed all the instructions apart from the one about title update #5 since i don’t have it
March 21, 2016 at 5:03 pm #465716Another thing that might be relevant: When i have added all the songs and Title Update 4 to the USB-stick in RBtoUSB and hit “refresh”, there’s an error box that pops up that says “Error searching drive for RB save game files. Invalid symbols in the search path”
Could this affect in some way?
March 21, 2016 at 5:24 pm #465718Copy these files ( autosaved game, audio/video settings and song cache ) to your usb thumb drive.
If your copy of RB3 has a Madcatz logo on the Disc or case cover ?
( It will not allow you to play custom songs. ) If it has the Madcatz logo Your RB3 disc is too new & has RB3 update #5 burnt on the Disc itself.
At that point your screwed my friend. Need to purchase an older copy of RB3 without Madcatz logo !!
Hope this helps !!

Gonna try copy these files to the USB drive

March 21, 2016 at 5:31 pm #465720Then it should work. Been a while since I set mine up.
You might need to also copy RB3 Update #4 from flash drive to Rock Band 3 game on your Xbox 360 hard drive I think ?
You will also need to put your custom RB3 songs on flash drive using RB3 to USB in C3 con Tools ! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

March 21, 2016 at 5:34 pm #465721If you’re on the latest Xbox updates, just use C3 CON Tools to copy over the files.

I did that. I used RBtoUSB to copy the files to the flash drive, but they won’t show up in the game

March 21, 2016 at 6:47 pm #465729Do you have another flash drive you can try?
March 21, 2016 at 6:50 pm #465730I tried transfering the custom songs to the flash drive and then running C3 CON Tools and RBtoUSB, and now it works.
There’s no mention about this in the guide that you have to transfer the custom songs to the flash drive before you can run them in C3 CON
March 21, 2016 at 7:08 pm #465731Huh? That shouldn’t be the case, before I switched to a modded xbox with FTP I plugged the flash drive into the xbox, formatted and used Con Tools from there.
Either way, it all works now
