Okay well my last guitar controller’s strummer had issues… Tried to fix it… Must’ve broke it while trying to fix it cause it isn’t even being noticed… So now I need a new guitar controller.
And I want to know which ones works for Rock Band 3? Or is it just Rock Band 3 specifically? Also, I’m wired only. No wireless crap. Lastly, do all guitar controllers have an issue with the strummer eventually or just RB3’s fender guitar?
That’s all. Any help would be awesome!

Do all guitar controllers have an issue with the strummer eventually or just RB3’s fender guitar?Remember that the crappy leaf switches used in strummers are only rated for 1000 activations. There were exceptions, but now that no one is producing anything, you’ll have to scrounge.

What’s so amazing about me saying wireless crap?
And alrighty then. I’ll find something though personally.

I already found a bunch of wired guitar controllers, though on Ebay. Some being Rock Band 3’s fender guitar but the majority being the X-Plorer guitar from Guitar Hero.
I did found Harmonix’s compatibility list and figured out that the X-Plorer can work for Rock Band 3 on Xbox 360… So if I have to, I can just get a new guitar from Ebay, that’s for sure.
Oh and btw, I don’t mind wireless as long said items use a rechargeable battery. This is NOT the case for Guitar controllers so I prefer wired. My drums though sadly are wireless but it looks like I can plug in a USB wire into it so it is wired (There are four empty slots on the back. I already know the 3 colored ones are for the symbols but there is also a boring black one that looks like a good USB wire spot).

August 26, 2013 at 1:17 pm #405134Where’d you get that 1,000 number for the leaf switches? That can’t be right. 1,000 strums is, like, 6 songs, depending on difficulty and song.
There is a website that makes replacement strum bars, though honestly I’ve no clue whether they are still producing and shipping orders. I’ve never used them but I probably will try in the near future since I’ve got three guitars, one of which has a busted strum bar, and one of which is 4+ years old and will probably go soon. Check out http://www.bytearts.com.
Alternatively, you could probably build something yourself, or even maybe get custom-made strum bars made from a metalworker which would be infinitely durable. I wonder if anyone’s ever tried that?

I got the 1000 leaf-switch number from one of the now-defunct replacement strum bar makers. The 1000 number was clearly listed in the original datasheet, though I can no longer find the link. The replacement one (and I think Byte Arts also) was rated for a million activations. That’s just the spec though – at room temperature, with mechanical restraints in place to cushion the forces on the switch, it’ll last much longer.
If you’ve opened a guitar, with its labor nightmare of hot-glued wires and 1000 little plastic parts, the fact that the leaf switch is a substandard piece of crap should come as no surprise.
Here’s a typical leaf switch though – 30000 activations is all that’s guaranteed. Enjoy your 15 playthroughs of Highway Star (2200 notes).

The bar is sometimes the problem, but it’s more often the switch.
August 26, 2013 at 2:25 pm #405139I got one of those replacement strumbars (linked above) in, like, 2009 or 2010, and it’s awesome. I haven’t used it since I got my full-size Strat replica, but I heartily recommend it — it’s a perfect compromise between the stock Strat’s flexibility and the traditional “click” of the old GH controllers, except much softer.

Oky. I’m curious. How does one get a rechargeable battery thing for these controllers? Cause if this true and any wireless guitar can have a rechargeable battery then I would love to learn how do this.

Better than Amazon… The guitars on Amazon are priced between 100 dollars – 200 dollars… Highest priced one I found on Ebay was around 60 dollars and it was for two guitars and a GH game.

Buy rechargeable AA batteries and a recharger. Then put batteries in guitar. When the charge is no more, take out the batteries and recharge. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
August 26, 2013 at 4:08 pm #405143I was lucky enough to pick up the Wooden Strat with bass guitar deal for $100 madcatz had going one Christmas. They’ve worked fine ever since. Will be a sad day when they give out.

Now there are only a few left for sale floating around the internet, and they’re all like $350+. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Didn’t knew you could get rechargeable AA batteries actually. Nice to know that now!
