There were a few artists who were legends that should have but didn’t have any representation in Rock Band or other music games. The Beatles was one, until they rightfully got their own game and a lengthy catalog. Led Zeppelin was another but customs gave us a few of their songs. Some greats and rock and roll hall of fame types have at least gotten a tiny bit of exposure, but one that I always found as a “glaring omission” here is the “king of rock and roll” Elvis Presley. He’s finally getting one song on rb4. He has many great rock songs that people have appreciated over time and generations. Other artists have made numerous remakes of his work and he’s regarded as a superstar but we never got any of his work here. It’s kind of late now that c3 is wrapping up, but i would love to see some Elvis.

“Burnin’ love” would probably be my pick, it’s got a full band complement, and probably because I’m partial to drums and Elvis had a great drummer playing with him called Ronnie Tutt, the drums on “Burnin’ love” sound just so fun to play, with all kinds of fills and little accents. Youtube for Burnin’ Love follows, and listen to the rest if you haven’t heard enough Elvis

And listen to Ronnie Tutt showing off <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Any other “glaring omissions” of truly legendary artists that didn’t get any or enough play in the music game genre? Reply here.

You’d probably find that authors will shy away from any artist that has been confirmed for Rock Band 4 in case they author stuff that Harmonix is planning on releasing officially. Harmonix very rarely licenses only one song from an artist at a time, and in the case of Van Halen they’ve come out and confirmed that more songs are coming form them. I imagine Elvis will be the same.

Agree. Probably wise to wait a couple months and see what HMX has up their sleeves with regards to Elvis.

Yes, I was thinking about that after I posted. It would feel like a real waste of time for an author to put in the time only to have an official song come out ahead of their efforts, or even after their effort and then have their work taken down from here. Then again, I think it would be a shame if it turned out that only that one or a couple other songs are ever made when Elvis has such a great catalog of stuff. Personally, I don’t plan on buying RB4 because it would mean I’d have to get a new console as well, and I’m not interested in spending that kind of money at the moment, so no Elvis for me. From what I’ve read, new DLC won’t work on RB3 (don’t know why they can’t make it work), so even if they come out with a great batch of Elvis DLC that I would LOVE to have, I’m still going to be sitting out on it. Oh well. Maybe they’ll come to their senses and port RB4 to the 360.

if his songs were released as DLC, we probably can’t get anything before 1960 because the multi tracks probably don’t exist.
